If it was Petersen then there is no reason to not have announced it 3 weeks ago or a week later

Coaches I'd be happy with: Riley, Petersen, Fisher, Aranda
Coaches I'd be concerned with: M. Stoops, O'Brien, Tucker, Napier, Campbell.
There could be other prospects flying under the radar that I could be happy with.

He's a great coach and I prefer him over Riley. Problem is he has quit already. Similar to urban can't trust him to stick around and stay committed.

I don't think it's Petersen, but when's the last time a program announced a coaching hire while the current coach was still coaching in the regular season?

On the merits of who he was when he walked away, no I wouldn’t be mad. Main concern would be hiring someone who’s been sitting out for a few years. The game is changing so fast with NIL and such.
