I hope he does go to Ole Miss. Then when time exposes him for he really is and that is a modern day clone of Dale Brown maybe his fan boys will shut up.

If ole miss hires Chris beard, I'm gonna melt like no other. I never wanted him fired at Texas in the first place. He's legit. Texas was rolling like they were gonna make a huge run in the tourney while he was just in his 2nd year. Now we are gonna get stuck with some coach that doesn't give a frick. It's gonna be somebody like John calipari. And I'm gonna jump off a cliff.

I can't see Beard taking a job like Ole Miss. He's already proven his worth as a tremendous coach and he knows that even though no AD would say so publicly, he's very much going to be in demand once the legal issues wash out. He'd probably sit out a year and wait for other big players to enter the marketplace before he would take an Ole Miss job that could only serve to DECREASE his market demand.
The reality is someone who is bold is going to get one hell of a coach that frankly would have otherwise never been available given he was at his alma mater with all the resources he could have ever wanted. Really short-sighted decision by Texas to can the guy to appease virtue-signalers that can NEVER be appeased.

Ole Miss is actively trying to get him but so are a few other schools (non Power 5).

Really?! How come football was easy to win a championship with Ed Orgeron? You mean LSU couldn't get a good men basketball coach and win a basketball tourney? Something is wrong here.

Chris Beard isn't taking the Ole Miss job. That is the worst basketball job in the SEC. It'd be like a Saban taking the Vanderbilt job in football. Beard will probably end up at a very good mid major like Wichita State for a couple years, then get hired by a high profile power 6 school of his choosing.
