I'm pretty sure he'll be offered it before Mullen. Oklahoma's had a couple down years eventhough they're in the BCS again, and they aren't as dominating as they were in the mid 2000s. Plus you never really know what's going to happen to the Big 12.

It didn't make any sense for him to leave back when the job was open before, but might he think about it a little more now?

Just my $0.02, but Stoops would be a fool to leave Oklahoma for Florida. He's already at a top notch program with a stellar recruiting base and has a much easier road to the national championship game in the Big 12(ish) than the SEC.

But he wouldn't have to live in Oklahoma.

He'd be moving to a more difficult conference. He's got it made at OU: he's established recruiting in Texas and he wins the conference all the time. His only problem is his recent struggles in BCS games, which is a problem caused by match-ups and coaching.

4 NCG's in what, his first 9 yrs? 1-3 yeah, but 2 of the losses were close. I'd say he's done well for himself.

Hey, look what AU did with a coach that was 5-19 when hired. Rich Rod's record is much better than that!

if the rumors were true he considered ND last year, then you might be onto something...

It makes sense. He runs the kind of offense that can take advantage of the talent already there. there are very few transitions that would be as smooth. I am sure he would like a graceful exit from UM. UF would just need some assurances about his DC.

I could have seen Stoops taking the UF job last year. This year, no way. Stoops will retire at Oklahoma.

I'm an OU fan. Trust me, it's not going to happen. Stoops has the easiest job in the world. He makes a boatload of money, talent to compete for Big 12/BCS every year and our fanbase is relatively undemanding compared to you guys. What SEC coach could lose 5 BCS bowls in a row and still be treated like a king?

Peterson is pretty far fetched, but RR is ridiculous.
