No chance. He runs a completely different system than Saban has run his whole career.

Alabama will likely try to bring Steele back if Auburn makes a coaching change.

Another name to watch as Alabama's next defensive coordinator: Bret Bielema.

Wat? Saban didn’t start running a 3-4 until he picked it up from Dom Capers in Miami.

...and Aranda runs a 3-4

I don’t care who takes him as long as he’s not wearing LSU gear come February.

there are at least 2 different 3-4 approaches based on gaps.

Sure he has. Has the LSU defense held every team to less points than the LSU offense has scored? Them Dave has done his job.

Aranda is getting a raise and extension. Guaranteed! Deal with it.

About 95% of the DCs out there could do his job this year then.

If you honestly believe that, then you are dumber than I thought.

We sit at about 45 in total D now; is that right? And how many teams do you think have better talent on D than us? UGA, tOSU. Who else? Won't be many if any.

So 43 other teams are already doing more with less.

So I would need to find about 60 DCs that could improve us from our current ranking. It's doable.

Just in the SEC, Shoop would. Elko would. Chavis. Boom. Odom. UF and UGA guys would. Mason would.

Defending and excusing what we're seeing week after week on D is lunacy.

This is dumb. you think he forgot to coach overnight? Cut the guy some slack, he's been one of the best DC's in America since he got here. He has a young defense, and is working without much depth. And when the offense is having a track meet out there, it spotlights these deficiencies. But that doesn't mean we should slow down the offense or kick the DC to the curb.

Shoop has the 91st scoring defense this year

Elko gave up 47 to Bama and 30 to Miss State and A&M has plenty of talent

Chavis- couldn’t stop shite without great DL.

The UGA guy is Kirby Smart. And yeah I’d for sure take him as a DC.

You’re list shows that you haven’t thought about this.

We need better DL. All those Coordinators aren’t worth shot without good DL.

I'd take him in a heartbeat at Arizona if you want to give him up.

Offensive pace matters for total D. Also, from a neutral fan, I virtually never see LSU generate pressure without a blitz. That isn't coaching, it's your D line not winning one on one.

Trust me, at Arizona, we lose one on one D line battles constantly.

This thread is SO typical LSU fan on tRant.

Not only was Aranda one of y'all's heroes last year, y'all were worried about him leaving for an HC gig or coordinator position at another school. There was a lot of talk on here about him being the "best DC in the country" and the reason for the team's success.

Even undefeated and ranked #1 LSU fans will be fickle and find something to complain about
