I’ve always thought Fleck seemed like he’d be a good fit at Notre Dame.

He is a midwestern, good character guy that seems to have a system that works without necessarily the best athletes, which could be key at ND, like a more energetic version of Peterson at Boise.

Kelly seems like just such a cocksucker, I can’t imagine the ND powers that be aren’t tired of his shite, even though they’ve had a couple of good years in a row now.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he wants to enjoy building Minnesota with no pressure a couple of more years waiting for the perfect fit. And for an Illinois guy, that might be The Irish.

Notre Dame won’t hire a coach who’s personal brand will compete with theirs. Too proud

One hit wonder coach.

Will be a mistake for any big school that hires him.

I feel like he is a pretty good fit at Minnesota honestly.

As far as really big jobs in the Midwest/Big Ten coming available...I don’t really see any big time historical programs looking very soon. Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, all seem pretty stable.

I think he would stay in the Midwest or Big Ten country because that’s where he has spent most of his career.

Maybe if Franklin leaves Penn State for USC Fleck would head there? That’s about the only scenario I could see right now.

Franklin wont leave PSU unless fired and if he is I'd bet they bring home Matt Rhule. He's a PSU alum I believe.

But I agree Minn seems like a good fit for PJ. It's not a bad gig either tbh.

Sarcasm right? You realize this is the second place he has slowly built the program right?

Anyone that isn't a believer in fleck is a dumb frick and doesn't understand talent.

The huge buyout doesn't start until next year. If he leaves after this year the buyout is very, very much reasonable.

Fleck is obviously a good coach.

However, Call me skeptical, but I just don’t know if his Schtick would work at a Top10 high profile job permanently. Maybe I’m wrong.

Personality Seems to be a “better fit” for an underdog-type program.

I just think fans and players at programs like Bama, Michigan, LSU, OU, etc would roll their eyes at some of his antics if he was their coach.

Fans...maybe but when he starts winning that changes. Players are the same no matter what. His row the boat shite is no different than "the process" just a catchier name.

Yeah, but whether fans or players... humans are humans. And annoying is annoying

That’s all I’m saying...after 3-4+ years of his schtick would it lose its impact and ability to motivate?... my guess is yes. Again, maybe I’m wrong, remains to be seen when he’s at a place for an extended stretch.

All that said, it’s hard to argue with what he’s done at 2 different programs now ... clearly he’s a good coach.

Fleck wants to make Minnesota a power. They have all the resources available too. Normally, I see thru the coach speak, but I think he's strongly committed to making them a perennial winner again. The top 5 jobs are probably the only thing that could lure him away. He's practically a Savior there.
