Will Napier’s offense work here? It’s not a Joe Brady offense.

Sweet lord y’all. The “Joe Brady” offense isn’t some mythical genius brainchild. It was a bunch of stud athletes running a spread with a stud of studs QB. I swear y’all think Brady was the second coming of Jesus Christ

We don’t need a Joe Brady offense
It’s not sustainable and Brady’s run schemes are crap
Thank god we had Clyde back there

Yeah, Joe Brady and Burrow was lightning in a bottle. There are a number of other coaches that may have come to the same result.

No way of knowing though!

Nobody will ever know because the only way Napier becomes the next LSU head football coach is if Woodward has woofed on a ton of far more qualified head coaches and is thus desperate just to make a hire.

Joe Burrow and a bunch of uber talented athletes made a lot of people rich.

Facts. How many times did we hear an opposing coach say in his postgame presser some form of “we knew what they were going to do, we just couldn’t stop them”

Multiple times. I specifically remember Kirby saying after the SECCG that LSU wasn’t doing anything special but it was just extremely crisp and they had dudes all over the field.

What you see at UL isn't necessarily what you will see at LSU if Napier is hired. CBN is limited at UL by his quarterback. The strength of the team is at RB and WR, so he puts an emphasis on them in his offense (screens and runs).

Pretty much any offense will work here if executed properly. Protect the qb, have sound run blocking schemes and minimize dropped passes and we all good.

You have no clue what he would do IF he were hired at LSU. His offense looks a lot like it did at Arizona St., solid but nothing special. The QB now is also a 4 year starter, right? I thought he was a recruiter? If his QB isn't any good now where are the QB recruits?

Napier Offense will be better than Brady's.

There I said it. You can take it to the bank.

I’m don’t really want Napier, but this kind of take is idiotic.

Good QBs are rare and most P5 teams don’t have one.

ULL obviously has one good enough to win at their level, but he’s far from elite.

There will be ebbs and flows to talents at different positions. The true worth of a coach is to have a system, recruit to that system.... but in the end be able to meld the system to the talent you have that gives you the best mismatches.

We have always had talent, we just didn't have the coaches to take advantage of it.

This is how you beat MSU who beats A&M, who beats Bama and hang with Bama but get blown out by UK.

Napier’s offense is not impressive. Does he have more? He’ll need it if he ever comes to the SEC.

There isn't some magical offensive genius scheme out there. It all boils down to 11 vs 11. There's always a way to stop any flavor of the day once there is enough film to break it down. It's about athletes, conditioning, discipline, teamwork, and executiion.

None of it is rocket science. Recruit as well as you can for your location, develop your scheme for the players you have, emphasize conditioning and fundamentals, and get your players the ball in space and let them make plays.

In the end all it takes is someone with a firm understanding of what works, the unshakable desire to succeed, and the unrelenting energy and drive to make it happen. Napier seems to fit this model as well as anyone.

It goes without saying that lacking significant personal demons and having a system that supports you 100% are also key.

It was the execution of that offense and predicated on quick decision making. I know people that went to practices. The big thing he drilled over and over was getting the ball out in 1.5 seconds. If not the play was blown dead and run again. I can assure you that this is not being done with Johnson!

Does Napier really have an offense that he an claim? He has only been an OC for like two seasons in total.
