Why would michigan go after miles?

With all the reasons people want him gone, and the fact he has this great elite program in LSU on the decline... Why in the hell would michigan waste their time on this mediocre coach?

I thought Carr hated Miles already.

Exactly... im sorry but Michigan football has a lot of history and if he has LSU on the decline... which was only on the up from 2002-2007, then why would they hire a coach that is as dumb as miles?
by the way i think michigan would be very lucky to steal this guy from us. just want to know how people can bash les but expect someone to take him off our hands? doesnt make any sense?

Big difference coaching in the Big 2 where he will probably be the best coach in the league (yes he is better than Tressel and Paterno has to retire/die soon) to coaching in the SEC where he has lost 4 in a row to the best two coaches in the league. I think he would do much better up there than in the SEC.

50 wins in less than 5 years, a bcsnc, secc looks good to most "fans"

what a coach can do at LSU is different than what a coach can do at UM
2 losses a year at UM is just fine, esp if you upset OSU once in a while

if you dont notice the decline since Saban came into the league, then i cant help the fact that you are blind. Miles is AT BEST the 3rd best coach in the SEC and that is being generous, he gets outcoached on a regular basis. I choose to look at whats on the field, not at records, cause i promise you, whats on the field is gonna win out in the long run and whats on the field is not looking good. But i guess thats cause of Ryan Perriloux, huh?

This i what i dont understand... Only 2 losses a year didn't come until Miles. Saban only had less than 2 losses once.
Rt now sec is big 2 also so dont give me that big 12 crap.

And you help make the anti Miles point, outstanding job!! thanks!! We have just as much talent as those two. We just dont have a coaching staff capable of utilizing it correctly
and its Big 10, not Big 12

How many has Miles had in his 5 seasons here? (1 more than saban)

Reasons:
-Michigan Man
-Probably get him at a discounted rate, which will come into play
-Would retire at Michigan
-Bring stability to the program
Michigan would be crazy to hire Harbaugh. He WILL coach in the NFL at some point, and that point may very well be within the next five years.
Kelly would be a better fit, but he's riskier than Miles.
You know what you're getting with Miles. He'll win ten games per year, they'll compete every year for the Big 10, and he'll run a clean program. If you watched the Miles to Michigan soap opera unfold during the 2007 season, you saw his passion for Michigan. He would never flirt with another team.

how would they get miles at a discount? They would actually have to come close to what LSU is paying him now, with incentives

I think he'd take a pay cut. I think he prefers the Michigan job over the LSU job. All indications were that he was as good as gone until the media forced his hand before the championship game.

We'll see, but I'm on record that if the Michigan job comes down to finances for Miles, he will take a pay cut.

Why don't you wait to see how LSU finishes the season to declare it on the decline. The recruiting is as good as ever and Miles has a solid chance of a 10-11 wins. I think he definitely outcoached Saban as they were in control of the game until some unfortunate injuries.
