In my professional opinion, Les is there to build the foundation and get the program back to bowl games. Then, when he's either ready to retire or has peaked out Long can go out and get a guy to bring it to the next level. There aren't many guys out there like Les that can instill values and recruit. I think he will be worth every penny to that program.

It’s Kansas dude. The bar is already really low, he’ll be able to build them to at least a respectable stable program and that’s really not even that much in today’s college football

If you care about recruiting you kind of have to sign a 4-5 year deal. And sub $3MM/year is nothing in 2018. He’s making less than almost every SEC coach. He’s barely making more than Dave Aranda
