when LSU hired Les, a friend from OSU told me this:
you guys will love him for a few years and then will not be able to get rid of him fast enough.
He was right, but Les, in his earlier years was good.
A good recruiter and a good ambassador for LSU...just stubborn and arrogant to a fault which did him in.
There are only a handful of attorneys controlling the hiring game .. he got market value less discount for his age and having been out of football.

Don’t forget that Kansas has a fantastic JUCO circuit he can recruit as well. Kansas State has been going that route for years. It doesn’t allow you to be a consistent winner but every now and then it all can line up and you can have a decent team. Nothing that will compete for `National championships but can compete with the top of the Big 12 every so often.
It’s Kansas averaging 6 wins a year and they made name the stadium after you.

Les was only at Ok St. as head coach for four years, so your friend’s statement sounds dumb.
