Why hasn’t Pete Carmichael Jr. been poached from the Saints?

He’s been with New Orleans since 2006 and was with Drew Brees in San Diego before that.
I get 99% of the Saints 15 years of elite offense is Sean Payton and Drew Brees, but we’ve seen offensive gurus still get their assistants hired away. Matt Nagy, Doug Pederson, among others.
Even Joe Philbin who looks like as much of a nerd as Pete got a job while working under Mike McCarthy.

Stability.
Zero pressure.
Lots of money.
What more could a nerdy fella with glasses possibly want?

I think it's because he doesn't get any recognition for the offense. All credit is given to Sean and Drew. I think if someone would hire him away, he'd likely do quite well, but is still somewhat of an unknown.

He has interviewed a couple times for other jobs but he is in a spot where he can choose the perfect place for his next move. He has ultimate job security right now.

I think people forget that coaches still have to interview and get a job. Teams don’t just look at your resume and go “well this is the guy bc he coached with the Saints for this many years”
When you see a guy get hired super early or with seemingly no real resume, it’s likely because they are excellent communicators and can lay out a vision for a program to the people who are making the hiring decisions and they cultivated relationships with higher up executives and coaches that recommend them for an interview in the first place

Pete’s got the best job in football. He has no pressure.
He got interviews for HC jobs but I guess he didn’t interview well
Now he seems pretty content.

Yes. Even tho Joe Brady said the Saints Offense runs thru Pete.
He’d be my #1 choice. But I don’t think he’d go CFB.

He can't grow a strong enough beard and has a weak jaw line.

He has interviewed for other jobs I can remember Detroit, I think that is the same year they ended up hiring Lombardi as OC. Carmichael has called the plays, he did great calling the plays when SP was suspended for a season. They finished ranked 3rd in points for, 2nd in total yards.

Some people don't realize how much work goes into the recruiting aspect of a major football operation. A guy like Pete who seems as introverted as they come, would probably hate recruiting with is 100% what LSU is about.

Beta personality and rides the coattails of Payton.

Know him personally. Loves the city. Young children has kept him here but only has one left to go in high school. Really loves San Diego too

I honestly don't think pete carmichael gets enough credit
I do believe he is happy in new orleans and would only leave for the perfect head coaching job

Because Sean Payton gets all the credit for designing the offense.

Add on, he has a shaky voice like RFK, Jr and the indirect psychological effects of it can’t help his overall confidence during first impressions, much like a “hesitant-to-speak-publicly” stutterer.
