not really sure, but he is extremely detailed and prepared from everything you read. High IQ as well. Those are two attributes of highly successful coaches. Just b/c he is not emotional doesn't mean anything to me. Bill Billichick looks like a statue half the time on the sideline or press conferences. But really it's a crap shoot

He checks one or two boxes. It’s still one or two more than Orgeron, but definitely not a sure thing. It’s also very possible he would be the best we could get anyway by the time Alleva is finished burning everything to the ground.

my point is that Aranda doesn't need to work under the greatest coach of all time like Kirby to know the blueprint to winning

he's one of the best DCs in the country and certainly didn't pick that up from a coach like Saban

Like others have said:

-Young
-Intelligent
-Absolute BEST at what he does
-Calm demeanor on the sidelines and the players respond to that
-Being a genius on defense, he would also know how to pick a genius to run the offense. He would be the OPPOSITE of O in this respect, in that he'd choose someone who runs an offense that he'd struggle against, not one that he can figure out easily.

he is certainly the polar opposite of Orgeron on every level, besides both being employed by LSU.

If/when the purge happens, he needs to go too. When presented with an out, he chose to double down.

Also, if F King and J Alleva want him, it'll be more of the same.

It's very simple; he's a defensive genius destined to become a head coach.

We already have a head coach, and if we want to keep Aranda, all we can do is throw money at him.

Most people would rather keep Aranda than Orgeron.

You Don't. You never know.

LSU did not know that about NS when he left Michigan State to be a Tiger.

You do know that he is one of the top DC's in the game. You do know that you do not want to lose him. You do know that Ed O is your current coach and will not make it. You do know it will be difficult to get a proven winner to come to this dumpster fire.

You jump at the chance to take a chance on this guy.

You jump at the chance to make him the

Better solution. Better than shrimp boat captain. Aranda has actually showed some competency at a coaching job above positions coach at some point in his career.

I just don’t get that thought process. Dave is @ fault for not moving his family again & possibly making a decision from a lie told to him??

I can’t imagine any HC who wouldn’t want Dave on staff if he wants to stay.

How is Aranda a lower bar than Orgeron? Numerous schools have hired proven defensive coordinators. One of them just lost in OT in the nationa championship.

That's not at all what I meant. I'm saying Coach O is lowering the bar so that pretty much anybody would be a better option.

Aranda is a great defensive mind. Both coaches in the title game last night are also considered great defensive minds. Seems to be as solid of a bet as you can make.

100% agree

I think his attention to detail alone makes him better than EO. I know this wasn't our best defense this year but I think that trickles down from the Head Coach. Say what you will about the easier practices and more film time but there were times we just looked soft. I don't remember LSU ever looking soft over the last decade or so. A direct result of not enough practice time. Too much good ole boy let's make em all comfortable shite going on. Do you think Saban ever takes it easy on his players? No. He is a dick but he demands perfection or at least the effort to strive for perfection. Everyone bitches about Saban but I don't know if I've ever heard a player speak negatively about him. And like I said before. He is a dick. I personally hate the guy but I do respect the way he captains his ship. It obviously works. Aranda is just quiet so I think people assume he would not be a great HC. I think he would bring a cerebral presence to the team that we don't have right now.
