UAB seems like they reached on Trent Dilfer. His only coaching experience is a few years at Valdosta High School and now he’s the head coach of an FBS program.

Cincinnati is a head scratcher too. That program has a ton of forward momentum and they hired Scott Satterfield who everyone at Louisville wanted to be gone.

Deion will fail big time.

I don’t see the risk there. They were 1-11 last season and have been dog shite for years. Why not try something unconventional to see if it works?

I’ve got Cincinnati too. That one makes no sense to me. I’d really love to have heard the behind the scenes on how that one went down.

I kinda like the Dilfer hire. Guy was an NFL QB. He doesn't have to leave central AL to rack up 3* talent.

I dont really care. But Deion is nothing more than a minority Orgeron.

Cheerleader with zero X’s and O’s. He will be totally dependent on his staff

Considering peak results , this doesn’t seem like a move anyone will regret.

But I get what you’re saying - a meathead coach whose strength is motivating young football players and also is blind to his own hypocrisy over some of the things that come out of his mouth.

I don't know about that.. He gets the right staff around him he is gonna draw some recruits. Prime may get it done.

Colorado was never going to hire a big time, proven coach. Might as well bring in the circus and see what happens.

I down voted this. Dilfer has run the elite 11 for a number of years and he will coach QB's and be a CEO. He will work out fine. Look at Prime he is a CEO and motivator.

Why is it this board hates Deion so much and seems to root for his failure as a coach?

so there are a number of high profile people or schools who have hired former players with little to no coaching experience in FB and basketball. So far I cant think of one who has fallen on his face.

Prime hasn’t accomplished anything except beating up on bottom level FCS schools with a stacked team of Power 5 transfers and superior talent.

Not saying he won’t succeed but give me Travis Hunter and I could coach in the SWAC and win every game by 40.

As long as he played, he definitely has Xs and Os. It may not be his forte' but you can't tell me he doesn't understand the game.

Will he be the next Auburn HC in the near future?
