I wasn't aware that Sumlin had coached a rivalry game...
This next DC hire is huge for Sumlin. If this DC fails, Sumlin fails along with him. He won't have the chance to fire him in my opinion.

Aggies have no Rivals. You should understand this better than anyone else.

In fairness to Snyder, it's not like that defense is full of all Americans. For the past 4 years or so yall have had way more talent on O than D, particularly in the box where it matters during SEC play.
Not saying he shouldn't have been fired, but Sumlin needs to find some thumpers to stop the run or the next DC might fail too.

His teams have gotten worse each year he's been at A&M. 11 wins, 9 wins, then 7, and next season looks no better. He still probably has 2 more years though.

He was widely quoted, after his game against LSU in his first yr, upon seeing LSU's defensive players warming up: "I want our players to look like that". So, 4 yrs later & he still has no defense. He's recruited above average the past 3 yrs, the last 2 in particular, so what is the problem, aggie fans?
