Taking over a perennial loser in the dumps and building a program is more impressive than taking over a program that's been consistently winning and not fricking it up.

LSU, USC, and FL need to be torn down and rebuilt. That's why someone like Stoops or Aranda are better fits than Riley or Fisher, but fans are too shortsighted to see past the "sexy" hires.

He's average to above average, not elite.

Stoops would be a terrible hire. That’s all.

I’m sorry Mark. We’re just not that into you.

It’s not you. It’s us. We promise.

Because he's Les Miles.

I agree with your position. However, this is not the type of hire Scott Woodward promised us.

Yes if we are looking for the most Non-Sexy hire any Stoops should fit the bill.

Nothing wrong with Stoops, just a “boring” hire

There’s actually not anything really wrong with him and I think he’d do well here. But he’s definitely the least flashy “good” hire we could make.

I think if we end up with Stoops than we struck out on several other candidates.

We could damn sure do a lot worse than Mark Stoops, but he shouldn't be top of our list.

I agree. However, I am told Riley has not declined our offer. Sexton is pushing Florida angle for Napier to get a decision from from LSU.

We hired Ed Orgeron.

I wish we'd had your attitude in 2016.

His offenses have been historically bad. He's on Oc #3 in his tenure

He would be a very vanilla hire

Like just about every name floated on this board, he'd be a big improvement over Orgeron. He'd probably have some success here. If the guy can win at Kentucky, then he should be able to win here. With that said, I think there are coaches LSU can get that have a better resume than MS and he's not high on my list at all.

Yes, those 3 are elite. Woodward must identify the next Nick Saban. I cannot be convinced that a Matt Campbell or a Mark Stoops can build a Saban-like dynasty at LSU.
