Richard turned down NFL secondary coaching jobs in the NFL because he said he believed he was too talented to be just a DB coach so I doubt he takes a college job coaching safeties

He would likely get a title of co-DC or defensive pass game coordinator if he came on board with Nielsen. I actually like the idea of pairing them together a lot but I don't know if there's money for it.

And I can also see Kris Richard getting the job if Neilson says no or Kris Richard could come as the safeties coach if he doesn't get a job in the nfl.
Or I could see them bringing in Mike Nolan to coach the linebackers and give Safety’s in the dB all the Cory Raymond

Pelini didn`t get the job until 2/20.

There is no reason to rush. If they have done their due diligence and believe the guy they want is still coaching then you wait it out and get that guy. That’s what they did with Freeman. He was their top guy they waited for them to play their bowl game then they interviewed. He said no so now you go to number two and wait if you need to.

I disagree. You identify your best 4 or 5 candidates and you negotiate simultaneously to give you leverage in the negotiation. Out of 4 or 5, you may rule one out but you will still likely have 3 or 4 great candidates. Some may decline, so you add another to the list.

If LSU is truly negotiating the way you say they are, they are setting themselves up to get left at the altar and resorting to hiring Raymond.

We've seen that before with other hires. If that happens, they'll then say Raymond was part of the process all the time and redefine again what it means to hire the "best coordinators."

It's possible LSU is negotiating with several people simultaneously but it doesn't seem like that given O's recent statements.

If Reaves was going to be hired he would be here already.
His season was over 2 wks ago.
I`m of the opinion that whomever O hires alot of LSU
fanatics will crush the hire. Why don`t all you O haters
just let him make his hire sit back and see if he hangs
himself There sure was a lot of silence from the peanut
gallery last year.
Support LSU and the coaches next season and let the chips
fall as they may.

Stop pushing the Richard hire. The dude is unemployed and could be hired at anytime if we really wanted that guy.

Hopefully it will be Nielsen, and if not him Brad White, or David Reeves, but hell no to Kris Richard.

O being a lame duck is Rant bullshite from a couple of months ago. We won the last two games with a team that obviously hadn’t checked out like people thought. The team didn’t all run to the portal or draft as predicted (like yours). We didn’t have a firing/hiring freeze because O’s expected to be in trouble due to investigations (like you guys).

In a nutshell, stop projecting your team’s legit problems onto us. O squandered a lot of credibility and goodwill from winning a title with this year’s performance, but it would take a losing season for him to be fired next year, and that’s not happening.

You saying this repeatedly in every fricking thread won’t make it come true.

Let me see if I can get this straight.

1. CEO is criticized if he makes a quick hire or makes the easy choice and doesn't taking time to review several candidates.
2. CEO is criticized if he takes a long time to possibly wait for an applicant to come available or to interview several candidates.

I suspect that the OP would not have been happy if CEO waited until after the NCG was over to hire Nick Saban as the new DC when there were "Plenty of great DCs out there"

Surprised he took a spot at his alma mater, where he once played, working for a guy he worked with on Saban’s staff? When he was a finalist for the UT head job three years ago?

You’re easily surprised.

Agree but O needs to be careful, he can’t afford another long wait and public courtship of Nielsen only to have another case of runaway bride.

I like that O has shut up lately and let Peetz have his day without interruption.

Jordy no longer on the radio takes away another weekly O temptation to run his mouth so that’s another plus.
