According to who?

If Mel Tucker is worth 9.5/mil a year, then Riley is easily worth 12.

He's gone 55-9 as the coach of OU and been to the playoffs 3 times.

Ed O was the losingest coach in Ole Miss History.

Riley would murder people at LSU.

Riley would be a homerun hire, but he would need to grow as a coach. Cannot come to LSU with that same approach he's used at OU. Losing every year to an unranked Iowa State or Kansas State. Giving up +40pts 5-6 times a year while also having a roster vastly more talented than opposing Big12 teams is a recipe for losing in the SEC. He better adapt and show he has a killer mentality because he's been murdered in the playoffs multiple times when he faces teams with equal or more talent. He's also recruited to OU when Texas was down.

His playoff teams had no where near the talent of competitors. He’s fought over recruits with Texas, aTm, Baylor (Rhule), LSU, & Arkansas, which isn’t easy. LSU would take his ability and career to another level. Guy has gone out and gotten some awesome OLineman and QBs and he’s done so thinking outside the box. His records and QB development/play qualifies him to be the biggest home run hire possible. He’s an extremely talented offensive coach.

What did Saban do before going to a team in the SEC?

What did Urban Meyer do before going to a team in the SEC?

No spazmo…

Would I accept him as the coach? Yeah but wouldn’t be comfortable at 12mil a year. Too much for a guy without a ring

If he can consistently win championships at LSU he is easily worth $12 million a year. Saban is probably the most underpaid guy in the world. He should be making $50 million a year

Would you rather pay that money to a late 50’s guy with a ring 10 yrs ago and might win one again if he has the drive

Or to a 38 yr old who has made it into the playoffs 3 out of 4 attempts and come up short but is still driven to get it done…
