Has to be. Going to wait to find out if he made the playoffs or not and bolt.

Do you just start a thread every time you have a thought?

these threads where your subject implies you know something, then followed by pure speculation in the body have got to stop.

Wrong, Vincent says Wednesday it’s going on. It’s not Kelly

"its 1000000000000% Matt Rhule, he's in"

based on what I think is happening, I think it has to be Rhule

Kelly don’t want that SEC West Smoke. He’d be a tougher pull than Saban. In my opinion

Huh? Playoff rankings won't be out until next week.

I don't know if that is the case because ND won't know their playoff fate until Sunday.

That said, it always seemed to make sense for Kelly to strongly consider LSU.

He's a guy that has had great success at every stop. In 10 years at ND he has taken them to the BCSCG or playoffs 3 times. Only Dabo and Saban can say that during the same time period. Perhaps he is looking at the landscape and saying, "I'm very close to being on top of the CFB mountain. But I just can't quite get the type of athletes I need to overcome the Alabama's, Clemson's, Ohio State's, of the world at Notre Dame. I can at LSU."

From a pure resume standpoint there are not many guys POSSIBLY available that stack up. Even Lincoln Riley doesn't have the skins on the wall that Kelly has.

Notre Dame won’t move up much after this weeks ranking, if any, since they won’t be playing this weekend. If they’re #6 tomorrow night, be pretty hard for them to actually make it in.

Good post.

But he may be too close to retirement to want to restart.

He is 54-9 over his last 5 years. He has quietly put together a dominant run at ND, but doesn't quite get enough stud players to beat Clemson and Alabama at their peak. Then again, who has - other than LSU?

If they are #6 tomorrow and Alabama and Oklahoma St. both lose in their conference championship games, Notre Dame will be in the playoffs. That scenario isn't super unlikely.
