Not sure if Mullen wants to leave a top 25 job for a rebuild but maybe.
Guessing MSU hires Herman from Texas if it happens.

You’re playing at LSU though.

That's a gamble I'd take every time.
Bingo. If Mullen wins an SEC CG and/or makes the CFPs at UT he'll be in the upper echelon of college HCs. That's doubtful to ever happen for him at MSU.

Of course it would be for you. Ha. You cant wait for UT and uf to hire their coaches, so your guy cant use them against neb.
I couldn't care less, actually. Zero chance of Frost going to either of those places. I've already said many, many times that I'm 100% certain and I'd bet my life on it. Frost is a Nebraska lock, and the deal has already been made.

this will be fun
By that logic, shouldn't have MSU beat LSU in 15? LSU laid an egg in Starkville this year no doubt. That has almost nothing to do with what will happen next October.
Do you follow college football at all?

If Dan stays at MSU and continues his current path they will name the stadium after him when he retires. There will be Mullen statues all over Starkville. That's not happening any where else.

He will leave when he is offered a better job just like Stricklin and Collins. He has been interviewing for jobs for years for a reason.
Miami is the only other job he's interviewed with, actually. And that was what, 5 years ago?
Collins has been nowhere for more than 3 years dude, he bolted for better pay and it's no secret he and Mullen didn't get along.
Stricklin wants to be more than an AD one day, he literally had to choose between chasing his dream and staying at State to be an AD forever, hard to blame him.
It really rubs you wrong that Mullen was adamantly not interested in the UF job not once but twice, doesn't it? It would chap my arse too that there has been some evidence that he's interested in UT, and he actually interviewed with Miami, but absolutely shows no interest in your program.

Gift? What about the 3 gifts we gave bert that lead to all of their points
Playing a little hung over from almost taking down #1 last week was obvious
Stupid argument from someone who obviously did not watch one play of the game
Get your facts straight Meatspank

I would love Mullen at Tennessee.

Would be nice for Bama to actually play a competitive rival for once

Ok. I'll remember this if he doesnt go.
Not saying he's not a pretty safe bet to neb, but until he is locked down 100% there are 2 schools that could make him think twice. Honestly I dont want him. I dont like coaches that have a "dream job" out there. UT got burnt on that, and so it's always an "out". But dont think UT/uf couldnt screw things up for neb in some way. Even if he becomes coach. Paying more than he's worth or accepting some crazy agent add-ons.

I think Mullen is an 8-4 or 9-3 type of coach, who can get you a big season (like 2014) every once in a while. Once he got things going at State, they still had a couple of 6-6 years, but I think those could be eliminated at Tennessee.
I think he'd be a consistent 9-3 type of coach at Tennessee, with an occasional 10-2 or 11-1 season where he competes for the SEC title. Every 3-4 years or something.
That might not be up to the standard that most Tennessee fans want, but it would be a lot better than they've gotten with their last three head coaches. And he wouldn't be the media debacle that Butch continuously was.
Plus, having him out of the SEC West would be great. LSU doesn't play Tennessee for another six years or something.

Mullen would be a homerun hire, imo. My only concern would be his ceiling as a recruiter. Could he bring in top 10 classes regularly? Luckily for Tennessee the state talent level is exploding. Currently sitting at top five in the country for 4/5* in 2019 and 2020.
Anyway it would be the first actual football coach Tennessee has had in a decade.

I hope he takes it for LSUs sake.
