Twitterverse saying Dave Hart is scheduled to meet up with Jimbo Fisher on Monday or in "mutually agreed location".

Clay Travis tweeted this morning that he thinks Dave Hart's top choice would be Jimbo Fisher.

If you could get Fisher, would you be happy?

Think it's a legit possibility?

Jimbo is reportedly unhappy in Tallahassee, and he should definitely be on any program's list, so yes it's a possibility.

Because rumors have been coming out of FSU that he's unhappy there, it's not what he expected, etc etc

And what gives you the idea that he definitely wants the path of least resistance (schedule-wise)? Many good coaches aren't looking for that at all

Well if he wants to come back to the SEC he should consider it. Its either play in the west with Bama, LSU, A&M, and Arky or Auburn making a comeback vs the east with UGA, FLA, and SC. I think it makes UT more attractive.

Good point.

Richt certainly has proven that a FSU coach can do just fine in the SEC East and set up shop for many years to come.

Tennessee has a lot going for it.

I'm pulling for y'all to get back on track if for no other reason than to see y'all beat Bama on a semi regular basis again. You need to bloody them up for us. It's a service we now provide for the Aggies.

I'm not sure Tennessee really has a damn clue what they're going to do, who they want to hire, or if they're going to agree on anything anytime in the near future.

I'm with adammwilson, people keep saying this but I've never heard it. I'm not saying it's all smoke, I just want to see 1) some sources and 2) some details.

People keep making nebulous statements that mean nothing.

I agree. He's at a top tier program and having success. Outside of going to the University of Texas (If Mack is ousted) or Bama (If Saban were to possibly bolt to the nfl) any job out there is a lateral move imo. I think UT fans are making more out of this than what there really is because our AD made Fisher Bowden's succesor while he was at FSU.

Hasn't been given some of the facilities he was promised, the AD there isn't the one who hired him, and he didn't like that (before their loss to Florida) with only 1 loss they were ranked 10th in the BCS.. behind a few schools with 2 losses.

Then don't lose to NC State. The BCS computers realized he lost to a team that Derek Dooley was able to beat and then automatically bumped them out of the title hunt.

Jimbo Fisher
this is what gets me: he cleans up in recruiting (rivals ranking the last 5 years 2008-2012, 9,7,10,2,6), has an annually soft schedule, and seems to annually underachieve.

what happens when recruiting gets tougher at UTk and he has to jump in the ring with bama and UGA, as well as florida on a yearly basis?

im not saying he cant do it. im not saying he wont be great. im saying theres a higher degree of difficulty at tenn than at FSU, and his FSU teams have, at times, been underwhelming.

I agree. I'm not saying he's the guy I want.

Just answering the question.

Doubt it happens, but would love the hire. An elite recruiter, especially on defense, and he can win games. His only knock is that he loses games he isn't supposed to, but he is still a young coach with some quality wins.

I think it would be a good hire but I have stated it before I think our #1 should be Charlie Strong and #2 is Jimbo Fisher.

Dave Hart interviewed a coach today and Hubbs says he believes it's Charlie Strong.

Trust me on this...VERY good chance he will be at UT or AU soon. He wants out of the crappy almost cupcake conference....its a nowhere league.

The shoe will drop as soon as after they play in the crappy acc conf game against a lame Ga Tech.
There wont be 20,000 fans for this game and any more than that are giveaways to clubs, schools, anything to make the stadium appear there are fans who care. Jimbo doesnt want to distract from the team until after the game...then Id expect something.
