I know I feel much better knowing that Verge has full authority to select the next head coach at LSU.

I feel better knowing they basically said the governors comments about an incentive based contract mean nothing
The boosters will get who they want and are willing to pay

The same guy who keeps scheduling neutral site games and we we do have a home and home we always go to their stadium first. That’s who you think is putting fans in good hands.

They always were.
Landry's crusade to "protect" the taxpayers was ALWAYS political virtue signaling and a publicity stunt. Taxes don't pay for the LSU football coach, and they haven't for a very long time. Landry knows that. But he gets to grandstand like he doesn't. Ultimately, when LSU does hire a HC for a substantial sum, Landry will grandstand again by saying that even though it wasn't an incentive-based contract, he protected the taxpayers by ensuring the money would be paid by wealthy private donors, not the average taxpayer...even though it was ALWAYS going to be paid by private donors.
Jeff the hero! Protecting the little guy from an expense they were never going to have! Four more years! Four more years!!!

It's a good message to say that while LSU doesn't currently have an AD or university president while searching for a coach (and the governor is talking too much), we have a plan in place with an interim AD and a BOS committee.
But before you get too excited about Verge Ausberry, don't forget his prominent role in LSU athletics' last great scandal.

Yep, exactly right. However, the taxpayers of Louisiana have bailed out The University of Louisiana football program to the tune of 50 million over the last few years. That doesn't seem to bother Landry in the least. Let that one sink in.

I don’t know Verge, never met him. I will say that during the end of Les Miles tenure here someone posted his email to let verge know your opinion of the direction of the program. I emailed him and expected nothing back, just that I wanted him to know I wasn’t happy with the staleness of the program. He emailed me back the next morning and was very nice and understanding. I didn’t even expect a reply as I’m not some big booster or anyone important. Yet he took the time to email me back and say, “we hear you.” I appreciated that a lot.
