I know he coached for the 49's. How good is he? he is a La boy correct? I cannot find a bio online. The 49's didn't excactly set the world on fire this year.

Is he not being retained by Singletary? Just curious why he would make a "lateral" move from the NFL to LSU, DB coach to DB coach?

he played qb at shaw and was in CU's recruiting class with Kordell Stewart. actually was ahead of kordell until CU got so far away from the option.

one of the famous "josephs" from shaw. brother of mickey and derrick. cousin of terry (former LSU assist coach) and sammy (former LSU cb-transfer from CU)

Last DB coach from the 49'ers to coach at LSU....Bo Pelini.....

quote:

In 1994, Pelini got his first position in the National Football League when he was hired by San Francisco 49ers head coach George Seifert as a scouting assistant. He was quickly promoted to assistant secondary coach, and by the spring of 1994 he had been promoted again to Defensive Backs Coach. In 1995, in his new position, he coached in his first Super Bowl as the 49ers defeated the San Diego Chargers 49-26 in Super Bowl XXIX.

A Joseph hire would be big for Les.......

Neither of these have happened at this point, but it would be remarkable, IMO, if Les was able to convince two position coaches at the NFL level (O and Joe)to take similar positions at the college level.

Isn't he related to former Nebraska QB Mickey Joseph? Went to Shaw HS, New orleans Westbank? I think went to Colorado as a DB, right?

Same guy?

wasn't vance joseph the ringleader of those recruiting sex parties at colorado? there were several rape claims that came out of that. the president resigned, the chancellor resigned, the AD got fired, the HC barnett got fired, joseph got suspended and quit.

No Vance was not the ringleader of that.... Vance is the "good guy" amongst the Josephs....

he is the joseph that actually won state as a qb....LOL..

Vance would make a lateral move.. to get closer to home/family.
