A good friend of mine is a big-time UF fan and he's hearing that Corey is being brought on as DC or Co-DC.
If that's the case, I don't have a problem with the man getting a promotion.
If it's a lateral move into UF DB coach though...

Growing pains suck.

Wasn't it announced that he's DBs and associate head coach? Haven't seen anything about a DC role, but agreed that would take some sting out of it

Totally understandable if that’s the case.

If not…bridge burned.

Patrick Toney will be the DC in reality, no matter the titles

I thought so too, but he just told me what his UF circle is saying.

Idk if I'd call him a traitor sometimes in transitions you get lost in the shuffle best of luck to him

You love you some Napier don’t you baw? Every move he’s made is just top notch- ULL position coaches, unproven DC/Co-DC, etc.?

If he wanted to be a DC it would have happened here.

Raymond is a great coach but kay was DBU before he came back. It started developing under Saban and then Cooper solidified it. Raymond effectively kept it going, so kudos for that, but no. He didn’t lay the foundation.

If by “building the foundation” you mean he striped the road once it was paved, then sure.

Firstly let's be honest about a couple things:
1. Raymond lost the safeties in 2018
2. Raymond lost the recruiting coordinator position just days ago
3. CBK hired a long time DB and some time S coach less than a day ago.

We, LSU that is, hasn't really been putting Raymond on the sky train to promotion.

And that's with a new sherriff in town being put aside. And now there is a new HC, a highly regarded one with his own people- that's just icing on top.

So one can't blame Raymond for walking really... if we're being honest with ourselves.

To be just as honest, the DBs haven't been performing great; at least not to the standard we need, much less want. And there is a lingering "culture" black cloud that he has some role in to some unknown degree. Again, if we're going to be honest let's be really honest.

So CBK has no real incentive to want to fight to keep him. CBK isn't like us- he doesn't have to nor does he care about the history of DBU. He can't. It's the here and now that matters to him. So this was practically inevitable with all the cards on the table.

Would I have preferred Raymond getting jazzed about a new regime and reverting to the old CCR? Hell yeah! Can CBK take that risk? No. Is it practical to expect that to happen with those honest facts above? Nope.
