This is an unrelated fact (kind of lol)t, but Kiffin dismissed TM7. Frank Wilson told him that he needed to recruit him. Lane passed. At Tennessee.

Name the available coaches that have won something

If there are none available then you take a chance on an up and comer. You don’t pay a coach who’s had 20 years in ncaa football the money of a coach who just won a national championship.

You hire an up and comer and put a clause in the contract that states if he wins a national championship then you pay him a dollar more than the highest paid coach. Make him earn it and work for it. Don’t pay him stupid money out the gate. That’s dumb.

Players can come and go at will but coaches can’t? What a load of BS. God forbid he wants a better opportunity and to be where HE wants. This is all just hyper emotional overreaction. Maybe the NCAA should fix their ridiculous scheduling. If anyone is the bad guy here it’s them. I don’t see the media going after any other coach looking to further their career.

Well, now I’m sure TM7 won’t be on the sidelines anytime soon with us. Lol

He can shut his big fat mouth too. Where does he get off trying to hurt LSU’s chances at the coach they want?

He's not wrong

IF he were HC at LSU / UF and did this during a playoff run I believe we'd all be pretty pissed

He’ll get a bunch of new ones when he wins a NC at LSU

Don’t know why anyone cares so much. Kiffin’s current market rate is crazy high right now, but I’m not paying, you’re not paying, LSU isn’t paying, the state isn’t paying.

If you want to argue he’s not the best coach available then fine, but outside of that it’s all funny money.

So he wants LSU to hire a coach that’s a failure? I don’t understand his logic.

Just to catch him up. LSU doesn’t have a coach right now and we’d like to hire the best replacement possible. That usually means a successful coach leaving their current program.

Does he not know how coaches are hired?

There's no way to say this without coming across as belittling, but there's a difference between leaving Ole Miss for another job and leaving LSU or Florida - and that difference is why Lane is considering the move.

Don't get me wrong, I think this situation is really unfortunate, but this is the nature of the sport/business. Would it really be so much better if Ole Miss had a couple more losses? And, if they had them, would enough shine have been taken off Lane for him to potentially lose out on the job offers he's currently enjoying?

Im just saying for instance, if he were HC at LSU and had you guys in the top 5 and Bama opened up mid season and rumors were swirling.

You would all be singing a different tune right now. Not you necessarily but LSU fans who are dogging on the OM fans rn

You're not wrong that we'd be frustrated about it (see: Saban and the Miami Dolphins); but I, personally, wouldn't be acting as if this is uniquely unfair or disloyal in the coaching profession.

Kelly did basically the same at ND. I don’t remember it being this big of a deal.

Counter: He’s leaving Ole Miss to LSU because it’s a better job right? Well what programs would he leave LSU for? I mean maybe Bama, UGA, and Ohio State. Thats it. I don’t even think he’d leave LSU for Texas. So we only really have to worry about 3 jobs opening up.

But why does it seem like every former player takes an emotional stance on everything
