The early signing period is what's wrong.

Nobody seems to care Kalen DeBoer left Washington. They were having great success too. They were a playoff team. He built them up.

I hate when LSU fans make LSU look bad and I love Tyrann, but no need for this. Coaches leave for what they see as better opportunities all the time.

Then why did you hire him, after all LK was having success and things were going his way at Florida Atlantic.

Right? How dare anyone ever leave anywhere.

Nah--we only want a guy who's failing in his current job.

Love Tyrann, but this “logic” applies to every candidate. It’s all silly really; often, we work in fields that allow for promotion. If promotion presents itself, we act in our best interest (because life is fecking short and who is anyone to tell others how they should live) knowing the institution we leave behind will persist long after we are gone.

Exactly. As he should be. I just wish people would stop acting like it's dirty and understand the situation of it all more.

It’s business and Tyrann knows this at the end of the day.

Just to be clear, I want Lane. But this is a story to me. And something I thought worth posting, I wonder what the temperature is out there.

I do wish we could fast-forward to about 10-15 years from now when TM7 is our HC

So you’d rather someone who isn’t good? Who would you go get if it wasn’t a good coach who was doing well?

Every player chasing $$ via the portal made a business decision.

That includes a lot on both the Ole Miss and LSU squads.

These players have a great understanding of the decision making process and that it’s not always a cut-and-dried decision. They all left teammates and coaches behind.

Kiffin is pondering his business decision.
If these Ole Miss portal players feign indignation they’re being hypocritical at the very least.

It's a new era like it or not.

We have unrestricted free agency every year.

Players and coaches are paid mercenaries now. Nothing more.

Expect loyalty from no one.

I’m so sick of this line of thinking. So when a coach gets hired he can never leave? Would I be pissed if I was an ole Miss fan? Sure but it’s not disloyal. He’s doing what he wants and what’s best for him and his family. Be pissed but not unrealistic
