I think you’re a few years late. LSU recruiting was very much on the upswing during that time.
I lived in Lake Charles while Slade was playing at Barbe. Slade wasn’t as good as he thought he was.

And he was mediocre at McNeese too. I remember being excited when he transferred back to LC. Turns out he wasn’t very good at all. Those teams he played for had WAY more potential if they had a better QB.

slade did pretty good at tulane, dunno why he would be told no. I think he prolly has some big time offers is prolyl more likely.

The year Slade graduated from HS was our 3rd straight winning season under Dinardo and we were going into '98 in the top 10.
