Woodward will not be the one to hire our next football coach.
If that has not been made clear yet I don’t know how else to help you guys.

Like it or not, AD's tenures are largely tied to the success or failure of their Football HC hire.

Mix in a bit of good ole boy LA politics, and this shouldn't be a huge surprise to anyone

Listen Scott you’re not getting a cookie for kim. It wasn’t your $2 million. You don’t even get to take credit for spending other peoples money.

Yes, an AD’s job is to hire coaches, but the responsibility goes far beyond that. And let’s not forget, he only offered a contract the BoS told him they’d approve (and they did).

How much money have we burnt with buyouts on BK's football staffs since he arrived?

We fired a special teams coach after 1 season.

We bought out the entire defensive staff after 2 seasons.

And now we are about to buyout 90% of the staff along with the head coach while having to hire a new staff.

Reports are that Woodward himself was personally involved in making some of the assistant coaching hires after BK's second season. Just like it was reported he hired Bo Pelini to run the defense for Coach O.

We have a completely bottom tier SEC basketball program but are locked in to such a ridiculous contract with the head coach no one cares enough to buy him out.

Hitting a grand slam with Jay Johnson isn't enough to overcome all of the above.

This isnt hard to figure out. He failed on the two revenue sports hires, one of which cost us somewhere between $25-50 million.
WBB does not make money.
Baseball does not make money. We love it, we love the championships, but it doesnt make money. And it certainly doesnt make up for a $50mm frick up.

Hes a great fund raiser, apparently the best fund raising AD LSU has ever had. I dunno if hes going to keep his job or have it nerfed or what with the new president. But he definitely needs more oversight on his contract negotiations.

I’m not saying he was going to get fired but Notre Dame was tired of Brian Kelley shite and he was a fraud and a-hole there I know firsthand from Notre Dame fans

wow so shocking fans of a team the coach left retroactively say they were sick of him anyway. He has always seemed unlikable but was very successful at Notre Dame. Maybe he was just chasing a big check or maybe he thought, like a lot of fans do, that LSU recruits itself and it’s easy to win idk.

As far as Woodward and the contract, that’s just the way of the world now, he’s not some outlier.

I think he's our best shot in getting who we want and raising money for it. I just think there needs to be a better process in determining who we want. A committee of ex players/coaches/expert annalists figure out who the next up and comer will likely be, then send scott to go get him.

Every governor has reshaped LSU with his own people. The governor controls the Board who appoint everyone that is not unique to this governor Landry is just more open about it. Woodward did force Pelini on Coach O and gave him a ridiculous salary for a washed up DC

Woodward is a great AD. The Kelly hire was a great hire. It didn’t work out.

Yes, we will regret it if we fire Woodward. Irrational, short-sighted decision.

He does not deserve to be fired and the closer Landry gets to control over the athletic department the closer we are to the 90’s era of football so we should all prepare ourselves I guess.

People have to stop comparing women's basketball and baseball to football as if they are equals. Only at Uconn would a few womens BB championships make you untouchable.

LSU is different than almost every other school in that baseball actually has a big following. But you can't F up the biggest coaching hire at the school just because you hired a couple of good C tier sport coaches.

Everyone likes to talk about the Mulkey and Johnson hires, but they like to leave out mcmahon and his 7 year contract Woodward gave him. Whats that buyout right now?

People trying to act like BK wasn’t a huge hire at that time are either stupid or lying and trying to rewrite history.
