Who are the top candidates that will be available after this season. Besides the Pear as I know a number will mention him. Who else can turn us into a consistent tourney team?

Brad Stevens will be in college next year.

They will keep MM until the new areana is built. Should have a better chance getting better players and coaches when we have better facilities. Or that's what I tell myself.

One day the Bulls will remember they're the franchise of fricking Michael Jeffrey Jordan so going 39-43 with Billy Donovan every year is not good enough.

Negative. MM’s support is gone. He’s out this year unless he somehow gets in the tournament. But it will only be a one year reprieve, his days are numbered.

IF we make a change, the first call I make is to Grant McCasland at Texas Tech. He totally destroyed LSU and has made that program relevant. Throw a ton of money at him to make it worth his while to come to LSU.
If he says no, try to get Tony Bennett out of retirement. I know his style of play is boring as heck, but he has a natty and his wife is from Baton Rouge.
If he does not want to coach again, i make a call to Scott Drew. He has a natty and his dad was an assistant at LSU under Dale. Maybe he wants a change of scenery and a raise.

How long will the Bulls stick with Donovan, and would he like to return to college basketball?
I, for one, would love Billy Donovan.

You want to fill an arena with that slop? No thanks….and I doubt that style would even work/much less get players to come here. Look for guys like Nate Oats that have exciting fun offenses, not basketball sludge pits.

Anyone who suggests Bennet is an idiot. Good call dude.

Guys to watch
Josh Schertz - St. Louis. Very good D2 coach that went to Indiana St and within 3 years made them a very solid program. Went to St. Louis last season and with a completely new roster put them in the NIT. Currently SLU is 13-1 and in the NET top 30
Eric Olen - New Mexico. Had a really good career at UC-San Diego. Made them a 30 win team by their 5th year as a D-1 program. From Mobile, AL.
Andy Enfield - SMU. Had a great run at FGCU before going to USC for 11 years. He was up and down at USC, but has been solid (so far) at SMU.
Then you have guys who would be tougher pulls
Mark Byington - Vanderbilt. Good at JMU, but has quickly turned Vanderbilt around (perhaps he's getting $100M in NIL money at Vandy...or perhaps he's a damn coach). Vandy would fight hard to keep him.
TJ Oltzenberger - Iowa St. He has been tremendous at Iowa St. He really doesn't have any reason to leave...unless another power conf. school throws a massive bag at him. Same applies to Grant McCasland at Texas Tech.
Ben McCollum - Iowa. A great D-2 coach then had a tremendous 1 year at Drake...which landed him the Iowa job. He's an Iowa native, so it's unlikely he would leave, but a HUGE contract might convince him to do so.
Chris Beard - Ole Miss. Made Texas Tech a powerhouse and was on his way to doing so at Texas before getting fired for off the court incident. Quickly turned Ole Miss around. However, he's really struggling this year. That could be a sign that he's not cut out in the SEC in this era of basketball...or it could be an anomaly relative to the rest of his career that makes him "attainable".

He's really good, and a good personality. He spent a long time (relative to up-and-coming coaches typically) at his two previous stops. And SLU is putting a lot into basketball NIL. I think it would take a lot for him to leave this early in his tenure there. But his style of play is fun to watch. Interested to see how things go with him after this year when Avila is gone.
