Aranda deserves to be a HC

Maybe. But I think he will wait for a better program than Minnesota. Their expectations are only slightly lower than their ceiling.

That list

Fleck - No. He'll be the hottest coaching commodity next year
Miles - He won't touch that dumpster fire with that admin
Aranda - not leaving to go to a mid to bottom-tier B10 school. He's punching a golden ticket to someone better in the next couple years.
Dungy - seriously?
Boise St. coach - maybe

I have to imagine Minnesota takes a serious look at Craig Bohl, though his buyout is a bit high.

Les Miles must at least be interviewed. He can bring instant credibility and lets get real if Les wants to coach again he most likely won't get like a LSU or Oklahoma or Auburn or Florida or South Carolina type job.

I think in three years he can win the Big Ten West and get a shot at the Rose Bowl or Playoffs.

And you look at that list, Tony Dungy.
Really!

Aranda HC
Don't see why he would take the job if offered. That's not a good place to be setup as a HC to move to a better program. Also, it's not a huge pay bump as Aranda is now at $1.3M at LSU as DC and Claeys made $1.4M last year. Don't see them going much above that.

If you aint the lead dog, the scenery never changes.

Aranda like most coaches wants to be the head man somewhere. Its a matter of time before he gets a call
You guys talk about how great he is, you honestly think the rest of the CFB world doesnt see what hes doing here?

Oh, he'll get the call. But I see him holding out for a much better gig.

Theres two ways to look at it
He stays and waits
He uses a team like MN as a stepping stone

Time will tell, either way i think hes gone next yr.

Fox Sports seems to feel that Les should be called.

Fox Sports List

"Les Miles, former LSU head coach
While many thought Miles’ name would get serious traction this off-season, it appears as though the market for the former LSU head coach wasn’t nearly as robust as expected. Outside of an interview with Houston, Miles didn’t appear to get any major traction for head coaching jobs this off-season.

But with that said, this could be a perfect landing spot for Miles. He has Midwestern roots and has said he wants to be at a place where he can “win championships.” It won’t be easy at Minnesota, but at least playing in the Big Ten, the path to the playoff is there.

From the Minnesota perspective, they could do a lot worse than hiring a coach with a national championship on his resume and a reputation as a keen recruiter and talent developer. Miles is a name Minnesota absolutely has to call."

Shouldn't you be looking for praise for your team on the SECR?

Not in college though. He has his eyes set on the NFL. He doesnt enjoy the socialite bullshite that comes with a HC gig in college.

I thought Aranda is around $2M at LSU now. No?

As for Miles, is the Minnesota job better than the Purdue job, which Miles allegedly (according to board sauces) called a "shite job"?

just a shade under. 1.8 or 1.9. 1.3 was what he made this year.

Can I get a link to where he said something like that, I've tried googling, "Aranda doesn't want to be a head coach" "Aranda quotes" "why doesn't Dave Aranda want to coach" and found nothing.

It was widely reported that LSU didnt feel losing Aranda to a different school was the threat - it was losing him to the NFL. You had to be living under a rock not to see it.

So in other words he has never said he didn't want to be a HC, it is just what posters want to believe. Got it...
