Forgot one. Guest star on a network television show as a crusty old booster titled "Friday Night Lights"?

Herman would maximize every one of those intangibles. And he can X and O with anyone. I think I just came in my pants (just kidding).

"We'll...Let's not start sucking each other's dicks quite yet"

FTR let's all keep in mind that Tom Herman hasn't actually said anything, this is Tom Herman's agent doing his job.

All of that sounds like distractions. That's probably why Saban didn't go there.

One point I haven't seen made....herman has already turned around Houston and made them a contender. It was a rebuilding job from the bottom up. He's been there done that, and this is probably the ceiling for Houston football. Texas would be starting the same grind over. Trying to change culture from the bottom up again.
Lsu would be different. He hasn't had many elite athletes like he'd walk in on here. Lsu would be an opportunity for him to compete at the highest level from the very beginning. All the pieces are here, just need somebody to assemble it. Take Lsu from good to great. That's got to be more exciting than another rebuilding job.

That's my sales pitch. And Joe Alleva, if you're reading this, you're free to use it.

Are you suggesting we shut down the Coaching Changes board?

It certainly sounds like you're trying to take away our fun

I don't see USC firing their HC in first year

USC is also an Admin dumpster fire

think about it....

these things matter greatly to the happiness of the HC

I am sure he would love the USC job...but right now, it's a mess

Honestly my biggest worry is the Austin angle with his wife and her socialite predilections.
So make her Queen of The Spanish Town Parade. If she gets a look at Hollydays, she's hooked as well!

Herman's agent is smart. He doesn't want an school knowing his plans. To get more money from one school, they will play up interest at other schools. Herman is getting paid.

Yea, as someone else said, if he makes it known that Texas is where he wants to be then he loses negotiating power. Texas will pay a shite ton of money if they think they have to. He would be stupid to let them think they have the upper hand.

So you're bitching about constant threads, as a bama fan, on an LSU messageboard? This isn't the SEC rant. Take your arse back over there.

Why do people keep saying this? Texas put together back to back top 10 classes the last 2 years. I know they took 58 guys which is a ton, but it isn't like Texas is devoid of talent. In that Period LSU has taken 3 more 5*, but 2 less 4* guys. 31 4 and 5* guys for LSU in that period and 30 for Texas. Texas has talent and could be really good next year

So will LSU... Texas may have more disposable income but LSU can match for what Texas will offer. Texas will not offer $10-million a year.

Even if Herman left for the NFL after only 2-3 years we would most likely win at least one natty in that time. I'll take that risk.
