To Hog fans regarding Malzahn

Here is what I have been told by a good friend that is a booster at Arky that is very well informed.
The number one candidate on the list right now is Gus Malzahn. The people involved in discussions regarding the upcoming hire all recognize what Coach Orgeron has done at, and for, LSU and they feel Malzahn would have the same affect at Arkansas. They want Gus badly and he is the clear front runner in their minds as to who they want to hire.
There have been serious discussion with Sexton already and as everyone expects the buyout is the hindrance. No one will admit it internally at Arky but the hope is Auburn tanks badly to UGA and Bama and that allows Gus to re-negotiate the buyout as both teams get what they want.
The sticking points right now are, the buyout of Morris’s contract along with the buyout of Gus’s contract right now plus the new contract of Gus’s is way out of what they want to spend.
So if your Arky fans and want Gus to come home, you need to be huge UGA and Bama fans over these next 3 weeks and blow the doors off of Auburn because if Gus’s buyout doesn’t come down my guy says it won’t happen.
Now what is interesting to me is that Sexton initiated the first call I was told so that leads me to believe Gus wants this badly also, I truly wonder how his team is going to respond in those games

You should have started with this.
His agent initiated the discussions and is leading people to believe Gus wanted the job. SHOCKER

Are you trying to say that there is another reason why an agent might lead a program to believe his client wants the job?
BTW we have heard rumors regarding an agent coming to Arkansas about the client wanting the job at least 4 or 5 times so far. Doesn't mean anything yet.

We aren’t hiring Gus. Well, actually, these are the same dumbasses that hired Chad Morris so it’s possible. The state will revolt though, Malzahn is one of the most hated people in the state. Tennessee’s little bitch fit about Schiano will look like child’s play if Malzahn is hired.

It very well may not happen, but he is absolutely the top target. If he wasn’t, which he is, then everyone in charge of the search or “the list” would need to be fired. Only an idiot wouldn’t put Gus at the top of the list of realistic Arkansas coaching candidates.

Maybe. The thing you are missing about Sexton reaching out is the fact Gus has no leverage to get a raise. It's quite opposite. This tells me your source is very wrong.

Not sure what this has to do with anything. Gus isn’t looking for a raise... he’s looking for a new job and the avoidance of getting stiffed on a buyout from Auburn down the road.
All that said, I don’t think they’ll be able to make it work. I predict Kiffin will be Arky’s next coach.
