Notre Dame record the 12 yrs prior to Kelly

12 yrs w Kelly
113-39 w 2 playoffs and 1 BCS championship game appearance
His last five years pending final game this year consist of the following win totals:
11, 10, 11, 12, 10
So, at the end of his 12 yr run he is winning most consistently. He is proven to be a top coach and he would win a title at LSU and enter the echelon of elite coaches.
Anyone that thinks he is too old or isn’t as good as Kiffin is a flat out idiot who’s football opinions should be disregarded immediately.

You say that like he's Bill O Brien. Kelly is a complete slam dunk that shouldn't be poachable. If it actually happens, this coaching search went better than anybody could have possibly expected.

At least there are a few of us sane/rational people.
BK would be a tremendous hire. LSU shouldn’t be able to pull Notre Dame’s all-time winningest coach who is still coaching them at a very high level (arguably that program’s ceiling), and if we do it’s a great hire.
BK is easily a Top10 coach in CFB, probably Top5

Realistically you would probably get more like 5 good years out of him. He could definitely bring a NC home in that timeframe though and would almost certainly get the program back to where it should be.

Isn’t he 60 though? The chances of whoever we hire being here in 10 yrs is remote anyway. His class this year is ranked #4. He would turn us around and give us as good a shot as anyone of another Natty.

While having to recruit actual students that can make the grade at Notre Dame.
What he has done is impressive and I think a great hire.
