what do you mean constantly searching for the next bear? does that mean firing coaches like shula, dubose, and strip club lover mike price?

Without TAF we'd be Mississippi State right now.

Let me rephrase. If TAF tries to do anything besides raise money, then they are NOT good for LSU>

so them firing incompetent coaches that the hc refuses to get rid of isn't a good thing?

Just about every coach they hired either played for or coached with the Bear at some point

Wasn't Bama's problems the past couple of decades due to boosters having too much pull and continuously searching for the next Bear?
Bama boosters are the reason they got Saban...
Posted on 1/7/10 at 10:42 am to Jason9782003
fran, no, curry, no, saban, no, price, no. so you have ray perkins, dubose who was promoted after stallings retired, and shula who was one of the few willing to take the job in late May. Bama went cheap for a little while like we did, and that's why they could only hire bear's boys. once that got their wish and the boosters got a chance to open their wallets they got saban.
Posted on 1/7/10 at 10:43 am to 1999
if bama would have let them run the search and pay out the nose for the best coach they probably would have been back faster.

wow, we do get a great post/thought every once in a while.
This has nothing to do about miles or crowton's ability or inability to coach. This is about the proper structure within an organization to be successful. how's it working for snyder?
Let the coach run his course. he doesn't get the job done with the people he wants, clean house next year. what will we "lose" from it? recruiting is all but wrapped up.
your assuming the next guy wont have his hands tied and you wont have to be looking for a new staff next year. if the head man isn't happy with this decision, that isn't is own, what makes you think he wont take over more control making the hire a mute point?

How in the hell do you know for fact that Miles is refusing to get rid of Crowton? You have substantial evidence to back this up? Or, like most every other know it all on here...just because you said it it's fact. I think everybody in their right mind wants the best for LSU. Some just think things out a little more rationally then others do. THANKFULLY these unrational jump to conclusion IDIOTS are not running the show at LSU. We'd have a new coaching staff every phuking year with these clowns!!

Because Miles has shown a preference for letting his fired coaches get a new job instead of just axing them. He doesn’t cut their legs out from under them when they attempt to look for a new job (you have better bargaining position if you already have a job). So he didn’t tell the media because A) he doesn’t have to and B) so he wouldn’t be a dick to his assistant.
Absolutely. I don't see how fans don't understand this. Miles did the exact same thing last year. He clear was getting rid of the DC combo, but he allowed them to go out, save face, and get another job without giving them the ax.
Say what you will about Miles, he seems to be a classy guy with regards to his coaches.
That's why I expected Crowton to leave all along. Especially when we hired Gonzo. Crowton knows the deal and has been looking.

ding ding ding we have a winner!!
I too, like everyone else want the best of the best for LSU!!
However, I find a lot of joy in watching these jackasses on here that THINK they know it all and THINK they deserve an answer from LSU for anything suffer and be miserable throughout this whole process!!!
Miles or LSU doesn't owe the local media or anyone crap!! We buy merchandise and tickets under our own free will! Nobody is forcing anyone to spend their $$$ on LSU!! Those fools that pound their chests and say I'm not buying any more merchandise or renewing my tickets will only get left in the dust and rightfully so!! I can assure you the powers that be at LSU are not losing sleep over these idiots that continue to make fools of themselves here on a minute by minute basis! They (Miles, Alleva, BOS, etc.) will move and react if and when on their own terms!! Anybody who knows someones cousins husbands uncles nephews brother in laws dog is only spculating and throwing turds against a wall to see if they stick!!
The only poster, from what I can see, that's been remotely credible is BelowPar and even he clearly stated that nothing was definite!!

From a poster on another site
"I got an email from a friend who is usually pretty well in the know, and he says GC's resignation to go to a job with the Chicago Bears will be annonced tormorrow. That's just a "for what it's worth".
Posted on 1/7/10 at 11:48 am to ROUSTER
..and all of this is why Miles will never have much of an issue getting new coaches to come to LSU.
