“Should” we end up with a DC opening, whats your thoughts on us going after Strong? I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT HIM AS A HC, but as a DC. The guy can obviously coach defense and he is a really good recruiter. Currently a Bama analyst if not already known.

Honestly I think he be another Pellini. The games has past those guys by with these new high powered offenses.

My first thought is why would LSU fire a failed head coaching retread who didn't work out as DC, just to hire another failed head coaching reject that is not currently employed as a DC? Strong is not currently a DC for any program, and could be past his prime at 60.

I’m good. I want an outside the box hire, if we hired strong then that’s just as lazy as the Pelini hiring

He has not been a DC since 2009. It would be a gamble. Has he adjusted to newer offenses?

61 years old and hasn't been a coordinator in 12 years. Pass. Enough of the retread old guy hires.

Eh, maybe 10 years ago. He hasn't done much since he left Louisville. In fact his defenses at Texas and South Florida were awful.

But he does look great for 61. So he's got that going for him. Which is nice.

Need someone young, or at least someone who understands modern offense vs defense

Strong as a analyst or for a staff advisor type spot sure. For DC? frick no, he’d be Pelini part 2 except he’d work harder
