Wouldn’t classify myself as a “Napier boy”. I certainly wouldn’t melt over the hire though. Calling him a gas station attendant and a scrub hire is just a load of crap. Dude isn’t my first choice but I believe wholeheartedly that he would be light years better than O or Miles . Also better than most of the names I’ve seen thrown around on here in my opinion.

You guys want stability in a coach but then you want to hire somebody who’s unproven. I don’t give a shite what he’s done in the Sun Belt, this is a top-five program and it’s not the time to roll the dice. Some of you are fricking morons.

I don’t understand how you people get so worked up over Napier. He’s not some P5 worldbeater but he is a good coach.

As I said in another thread....
Napier and Campbell are the two best choices, unless you can throw the bank at Saban. Saban is the only proven commodity. Everyone else is a crap shoot and has flaws.
And if it’s a crap shoot, give me the two young hungry HCs that are punching WAYY above their weight. They’re coaching middling programs in their own state and doing impressive things with impressive results.
My only concern with Napier is the team only averages 190 yards passing per game. They’re only a 1 loss team so he’s doing what he needs to win, but that won’t work in the SEC.
By all accounts these guys can flat out COACH. So many dumb names being thrown out by fans that have low iq’s. If you can’t get the sure thing (Saban) then you have to take a chance on someone who can COACH. To be the next Saban or big name. Not gonna get that with anyone else. All these other dudes have peaked. Why would LSU settle for that?
We’re coming out of the worst coach of all time, let’s get someone who knows how to lead. Those types of hires usually pay off

So it would be a better hire if he was still just a OC at a P5 school instead of running his own program? Because he has more head coaching experience than Riley, Day, Dabo, Jimbo, Kirby combined before they got their first HC jobs at big time programs.
