LSU is no longer a top echelon program.

The refusal to consider paying top money for a top tier coach is an admission that LSU's administration doesn't view the school as top program.

Congrats on officially degrading LSU from a top 5-10 program to a mid tier SEC program with the likes of Miss State, Arkansas, and Ole Miss.

At least ATM and Auburn have the brass to try and compete.

LSU and Alleva were cucked by Herman and Jimbo.

No, it doesn't cement LSU as a mid-tier SEC school.

If this is the start of an austerity period, LSU is finished as a national power. If this is just a bizarre set of circumstances... then hope lives on.

I'll say this: you don't face off against one of the greatest dynasties in CFB history by hiring Coach O.

At best, LSU wanted to punt on this hire until Saban retires, save a little $$ and then attempt to get a star in 3-5 years? At 55, Coach O won't be on the sidelines forever.

Unfortunately, this is the truth. Our administration from F. King on down is mediocre.

I agree.

I think my posts will be mostly limited to the soccer board and the Arsenal thread.

See you there.

This guy won't be doing this after losing to Alabama. He'll probably love it.

Agreed. I wont go to another game until Alleva is gone. The whole situation is embarassing. Literally woke up sick to my stomach.

That's one way to look at it. Too cheap to hire a firm that does coaching search and hire processes? That means that the powers that be are happy with being mid-tier because it's all about the dollars and they are making money with LSU at this level.
