If LSU wins out from here it is just about certain LSU will be in the Sugar Bowl as long as Tennesse doesn't upset Bama in SECCG and Auburn doesn't beat Bama in the Iron Bowl with both those possibilities extremely small.

So if LSU goes from 2-2 with Miles behind the wheel this year to 6-1 with a Sugar Bowl birth and only a 10point loss to Bama in an extremely tight game, Alleva's hands will be tied plain and simple. There will be no chance of Alleva hiring anyone else for the job, if he was being honest when he said that the rest of the season was an audition for Coach Oeaux.

This board will go fricking Trump/Clinton-esque nuts if that happens. Me I will just get my out and watch the fun!

Lol. I'll feel a little bad for O bc it's over. I appreciate the job he's done, but it's over.

We are totally going to win the next 2 games

Florida has what 10 starters hurt? And they were not spectacular to begin with.

A&M sucks and we can run on them.

Yep. Id be pulling for coach O when he takes over WKU, Tulane, or Houston.

Hope he kills it there and comes home to retire a tiger

If he wins out and LSU goes to the Sugar Bowl, you think Coach Oeaux won't get the job?

I will take bets on that! Alleva's hands will be tied watch and see!

Also Herman IS going to Texas, I will take bets on that. And I don't think Jimbo comes here so the big splash hire won't happen, it makes it even easier for Alleva to hire Coach Oeaux.

You must really want Alleva to be shown the door, which is what he's setting himself up for if he settles for this scenario.

Alleva's hands won't be tied because is beholden neither to O nor the reactionary, melodramatic fans. He has a duty to the school and himself to hire the coach who will have most success at lsu in the long term.

Take your white rubber boots off for a second and take a deep breath. It doesn't matter. LSU could have named Dave Aranda the interim coach and LSU would've beaten Missouri, OM, USM, Arkansas, and UF. This just as much about getting the new coach as it was firing Miles. The new coach that they fired Miles for was not Orgeron.

I didn't say the teams that LSU beat weren't marginal to shitty, I am saying Alleva won't have much room to move because of what LSU did despite the teams we play and other than Bama we are beating these teams convincingly!!!

Also making a big "splash" hire won't be around. Herman is going to Texas no matter what anyone on this board thinks to the contrary, and I will take bets on that. And I just don't think Fisher is coming to LSU, could be wrong there but that's my opinion. So if both those splash hires are out of the running then Coach Oeaux is the front runner if he wins out and we go to the Sugar Bowl plain and simple.

I am not saying I think Coach Oeaux is the best coach for the job, I am just pointing out what I feel will happen.

In 2013 O took over an USC team as interim hc and went 6-2 including wins over a good Stanford team. I wonder any schools gave O hc job interviews and serious consideration. Somebody help me out plz.

You really think the powers that be have been sitting around hoping O does this or that to justify their decision? This isn't a passive process. Things like, "they will wait and see" get parroted by media folks bc that's what they're fed. The truth is, that's not how this works. Folks haven't been sitting around since September 25 waiting to see how O does. They had a real good idea who would come before Miles was let go.

Connect the dots, do you think given the way last year ended and how quickly miles was fired, that talks haven't been ongoing with various candidates for some time now? I'd imagine a deal is already done and may well have been done before miles was fired.

Wrong. Alleva can say Eaux (not 'Oeaux', you goob) auditioned and LSU decided to go in a different direction. His team gained the fewest yards ever against Bama. Plus, Jimbeaux >>>> Eaux.

I will help you out, so LSU now has to do what other schools do? If they don't interview a coach for a job opening than LSU shouldn't? What a dumbass thought process!!!!

You don't help me at all. I need specific schools that gave serious consideration for hc gig so I might pull for O.

If they haven't been talking using backdoor channels they would be stupid, and God I hope LSU admins aren't that stupid. But the coaching searches are fluid plain and simple look at what happened last year with Miles, if you believe that Fisher deal was done. I kind of believe it to be true.

That being said one of the splash hires "Herman" and he ain't coming to LSU he is going to UT watch and see. The other splash hire is Fisher and maybe that deal is done, I just don't think it is. Could I be wrong? Absolutely, I just don't think Fisher is coming. You put that on top of the fact that if LSU goes 6-1 under Coach O with a Sugar Bowl birth it is going to be difficult to quell the enormous amount of support Coach O will receive.

That is the whole point, since when is LSU a follower! Since one school doesn't think a coach is a good fit for their school it automatically excludes that coach from being a good fit for LSU.

I have got a novel idea for you, try and think on your own don't worry about what other people think!
