Why? He's well paid here, and unless he just hates the next coach he's set for another 1-2 years before he makes a jump to HC somewhere

He's just soliciting opinions.
I would think Herman would try to take his current DC (Todd Orlando) with him. If Aranda leaves, then Orlando would be someone for us to look at.
If Aranda stays, he's likely going to get a very hefty raise.

He has infinitely more opportunity and stability in recruiting at LSU than at UT to be successful and earn himself a HC job in the future.
