I think a lot of you people are being trapped by a phenomena that frankly none of us in the SEC other than the Texas A&M fans have ever had to deal with. That is the mentality of the people who are the University of Texas.
not to the degree of A&M, but Arkansas dealt with it for 75 years. Older Hog fans know it all too well.

that's pretty accurate. i mean, is it still arrogance if its true?

You fell flat on your face trying to create the Pac-16, and Texas A&M is in the SEC as a result. To think what you say goes, pretty much ignores the biggest shift in the college football landscape in quite sometime.

I have lived my whole life here, have two degrees from Texas and I don't know a single UT alum that thinks this way. I'm not saying there aren't those that do - but to suggest it's all of us is inaccurate.

Most casual Texas fans are flabbergasted that there is even a chance Saban would come here.

Why do Aggies want Saban to stay at Bama in their own conference division instead of leaving the conference entirely to go to Texas?

The money UT has in oil could buy the state of Alabama. No one likes arrogance, but they really can afford more than any other school. By far.

If you are talking about the PUF, then you know that money cannot be used for salaries. Carry on.

or we would just rather play him in 1 game a year than go against him in recruiting all year...

No one outside the state understands the PUF....hell the whole PUF itself (i.e., principle) can't be used

Poor aggie, Texas doesn't claim every national championship given out by Hop Sing's washateria (I'm looking at you, Alabama) or claim retroactive national championships dreamed up by some poor sap living in his parents' basement in the 1980s (that's you, agholes).

Texas claims the 1970 NC. You know the season where you were ranked #1 at the end of the regular season and got beat up by Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl? I guess A&M should claim '92 as well then since we were undefeated before ND killed us as well. Now lots of schools count the UPI Titles that didn't include the Bowls but it is beyond hypocritical to then talk down to other schools counting "questionable" NC's.

A&M claims 3 Titles, all are undefeated seasons. We have other undefeated seasons we don't claim as well including 1917 when we were Undefeated, Untied, and Unscored upon while winning the SWC.

I would argue a lot of us in the state also don't know as much as we should. I've tried to learn more through the years. Its really an amazing thing that the legislature setup and I'm sure they had no idea how much it would be worth some day.

agree - I probably know about 1% of what I should about how it all works. And I think that 1% came from a cartoonish picture trying to explain it in Texas Monthly.

Touche'. Their program still makes the most money by a good enough margin.

Egg Zackly

Money wise? Absolutely.

On the field results/program history? Nonsense, the facts and figures show that Alabama's history sh### on Texas' program history. Texas is high on the all time wins lists but in all other on the field categories they fall short of Alabama.
