Won 3 conference championships (to Mack Brown's 2). Alas he didn't win a national championship.

Truth. Big part of why TCU and Houston hate Baylor.

Compare that to Texas' inability to prevent Texas A&M from bolting to the SEC, which is the worst thing to happen to the Longhorns

Disagree. A&M is historically mediocre program and consistent underachiever. I have no reason to expect this to ever change.

UT will always be big brother in the state of Texas.

Texas brings in $163 million. Bama $124 million. It's easier for UT to get to $10 than Bama.

So Texas is the school with multiple championships throughout history and Alabama is the team that can't keep up in CFB?

Is that what some of you are trying to say?

And lol at it being easier to win at Texas. What gives anybody that impression? Cause they have money? So does most big time universities

Why the hell would he go to a school where its harder to win (history says it is) and harder to recruit to (at Alabama his recruiting rival is Auburn, at Texas not only does he have to worry about Texas A&M, but Oklahoma as well, not to mention good programs at other smaller BCS schools in the state..there are no Baylors or TCUs or Texas Techs in Alabama), and also is an administrative mess.

People call UT the best job in the country for a reason. The state is loaded with talent that would love to play there. They're also loaded with money, facilities are top notch, The fans/boosters, alumni, are more patient than SEC fan bases, their schedule/conference is soft, the media loves them, rich tradition to build on, no real competition in the state for recruits- A&M gets the leftovers (maybe not recently, but historically).

It would be an easy turn-around for any above average coach (Mack Brown is average at best and has been pretty successful there. He's a terrible recruiter. Somebody like Saban or Meyer, who recruits well could dominate there.)

Austin is cool, but it used to be cooler, hit it's peak mid 2000s. Now it is just really packed, everyone wants to be there, seems to be a cliche of itself. Still has great food and lots to do, I always have a blast when I go there, but I wouldn't live there now.

Have you ever been to Tuscaloosa?

They've always had these built in advantages correct? What do they have to show for it?

Less competition. Period. This is a new thing as the SEC has risen to dominance and the Big 12 is a joke.

They're a sleeping giant. Probably the biggest sleeping giant ever. Saban loves sleeping giants.

Houston especially. That was rightfully their slot in the Big XII that was taken.

A. No, they haven't. The conference re-alignment and recent history has made Big 12 a joke.

B. They've never had Saban.

A national championship in 2005 and another one in 2009 if only Cart McCry hadn't been injured, again.

Sleeping giants that were underperforming when he took over. Texas football is the biggest sleeping giant in sports IMO.

Austin is the shite. Its awesome.

Aggies are butthurt because College Station is so lame. Pretty, but lame.

Tuscaloosa has a pretty campus and fun college scene, but other than that its terrible. Absolute shithole. If anyone tries to deny that, they are clearly trolling, dumb, or a combination.
