They've always had these built in advantages correct? What do they have to show for it?

Perhaps you should start with a list of all-time victories among Div. 1 or FBS or whatever-the-frick it's called programs... Hint: Start at No. 2.

Erhmagherd. We have people arguing about how easy it is to win at texas because of the weak conference who then say, but they have the second most wins in college football history.

That's because of the easy conferences they have typically played in. Notice that once that conference got tougher (Big 12) they stopped winning as many conference titles. Coincidence?

Poor aggie, Texas doesn't claim every national championship given out by Hop Sing's washateria (I'm looking at you, Alabama) or claim retroactive national championships dreamed up by some poor sap living in his parents' basement in the 1980s (that's you, agholes).

Stupid aggie just cut his own arse to the bone, 76 of those victories came against your sorry-assed program, eh?

Of course, there's 60 against Oklahoma, 54 against Arkansas, etc. etc.

One day you may not be completely dominated by LSU, but now you are the one making ridiculous assumptions.

So it is "ridiculous" to suggest that A&M won't #decline in spite of better recruiting and it is also "ridiculous" to suggest that Saban will walk in to Texas and wins immediately? K.

A&M is losing JFF and Evans most likely but virtually everything else should be stronger next year. The last 2 classes of defensive recruits should start to bear some fruit next year and they are replacing some horrific classes from 3 and 4 years ago.

Saban is going to have to completely change the mindset at Texas as well. Right now it is an entitled and undisciplined team that honestly is lacking talent in several areas. Mack's recruiting has dropped off the last few years, part of that is you have to look beyond the rankings. Rivals for instance gets much of their Texas recruiting rankings from Burton and Ketchum which are both Texas insiders. If a kid gets an offer from Texas it is essentially worth an extra "Star", it's a self fulfilling prophecy. Look at offer lists and head to head battles and things don't look nearly as pretty for the burnt orange.

Saban certainly is capable of turning all of that around and fast but he may not. It is also noteworthy that 10 wins at Texas playing in the BDF is not the same as 10 wins at Bama or in the SEC. When you only play one team a year that gets any national respect it makes your margin for error very small. The fact that the BCS and Playoff system are changing next year won't help either. If Texas doesn't win the BDF they will fall much further than they do now. There are many scenarios where a BDF team doesn't make the Playoff at all.

At the same time you will likely have 3 or 4 SEC schools either in the Playoff or playing in the Sugar and Orange Bowls. Every year. The deck is stacked heavily in favor of the SEC starting next year to anyone that has been paying attention. Saban at Texas doesn't change that no more than Meyer at OSU changed the Big 1G and I seriously doubt Saban wins his first 23 games at Texas.

Yes, we have typically sucked. Still doesn't change the fact that a lot of the wins came against shitty teams.

Exactly. "National Championships" were even more mythical back then than they are now.

Aggy delusion is strong in this thread

Lol no.

I am just loving this ride. Its great watching Bammers squirm.

I have been on record repeatedly saying he SHOULD leave because of several obvious reasons, but I don't think he will.

Why do Aggies want Saban to stay at Bama in their own conference division instead of leaving the conference entirely to go to Texas?

Bc they are "proud" to be in a conference with a coach like Nick Saban.

"Furkin Big12 ain't shite! We got Saban!!"

Personally, I'd rather Mack stay at Texas. He's doing an outstanding job.

It really doesn't matter, we screwed either way. ;)

We have to play him each year while he's at Alabama.

or

We have to recruit against him for ~341 1A recruits that come out of Texas each year.

This is how the Longhorns think. Never mind the fact that their money advantage is not that much greater than other power schools, or that Texas isn't even the school with the most political clout in its own state (That would be Baylor), or that for a school to claims to get what it wants has a lousy athletic record for an all powerful overlord. They think they are Alabama football, North Carolina basketball, Stanford, Oxford, and Harvard all piled into one.

False.
