No one is saying that.

We are assuming he will show up because of an absurd contract to coach at a school that doesn't have unrealistic fans in a MUCH better city at a school he won't have to recruit half as hard at. He schedule there would allow him to win 10 games a year easily with just Texas recruits and make the fanbase happy again.

So Mack Brown is getting "let go" and Texas is going through this whole charade just for the final outcome to be that Saban gets a bump in pay at Bama?

Here's how I see Texas:

They ARE about as good as it gets, conference affiliation aside. Great resources, great academics,great recruiting base, great branding, great tradition, great alumni base, great wealth. What's going on at UT (besides football) that isn't better than pretty much anywhere else. Why wouldn't they be proud?

Texas people are not "convinced" they have Saban. The ones I know want Mack Brown to stay and retire with some dignity or bow out voluntarily. They are one of the few fan bases in America that we should be applauding for behaving HONORABLY toward their legendary Coach (ok I'm stretching here) as he winds his career down. They are head and shoulders less whiny than LSU fans and most SEC fans would be in a similar circumstances.

I too think Saban would win bigger at Bama, but I don't have a need to create this false Narrative about Texas to provide my justification. Texas is handling this in a dignified manner and SEC fans for the most part, don't recognize anything other than a meltdown as being normal. We are the Real House Husbands of College Football, always in constant meltdown mode, totally moist about everything, always in each other's business, hoping the other guy fails spectacularly.

Chill out people. Just because your neighbor wants a new car, doesn't give you the right to psychoanalyze him and deconstruct his motivation in life. Maybe he just wants a new frickin' car.

Texas better be careful what they wish for. Look at what USC is going through, I'm not convinced Sark is any better than what they had. Look at Tennessee, will they ever get back to SEC relevance. Look at Notre Dame over the years, Kelly has had one solid year. Look at Bama and LSU pre Saban. Mack Brown and 8/9 wins is not all that bad when you consider who Texas will get if it's not Saban. Look at Ark and what there going through and bringing in coaches with different styles. Look at Fla between Spurrier and Meyer. Look at Michigan and Rich Rod fiasco. Look at Colorado, they are a shell of the program they once were. The list goes on.

It is puzzling that will all the money, all the recruits, the location, etc that UT has only 1 NC in the last 40 years. 40 years!!

LSU is even a better program.

Both cities are absolutely awful. Bama has a pretty campus with fun frat parties and college bars. Other than that its a shithole ghetto. Even my Bama friends admit that.
