The SJW Snowflakes at Ohio State finally got their way. Meyer is out

The SJW snowflakes swirling around the Ohio State program finally got their way. Meyer is out. And Ryan Day is a nice guy. I don't buy the "nice guys finish last" narrative. But they sure as hell don't finish first in big-time football.
Day may survive a few years on the stockpiled talent there. But beyond that, no way.

Good. Not a more deserving fanbase.

CUM is not a guy that generates feelings of sympathy.

he looked bad during the michigan game - lost his cool a couple times

Perhaps, but there were some chinks in the Armour starting to show (the Purdue arse kicking; hanging on to beat Maryland after giving up a million points).
So just like at UF...he fakes "illness"...retires...then shows back up at another power program. Surveying the landscape, USC looks like a prime contender. Loads of talent in California. A relatively "easy" conference to dominate...with the added bonus of living in a city where college football is FAR from the most important thing in the city. SEC scrutiny is suffocating. OSU football is THE GAME in Columbus, OH. USC football is a fun outing on Saturday if there isn't anything better to do in LA.
Dream job for Urban and his "health". Potential to win BIG without the intense pressure that comes from a rabid college football fanbase.

CUM should have won an Oscar for his theatrics on the sidelines the past 3-4 games!

If losing your cool helps you hang 62 points in regulation against the #4 team in the country - then I'm all for it!
I hate "nice guy" head coaches. EVERYBODY walks all over them. I'll take a jerk that wins 10+ over a "sweet guy" who loses 4 or 5 games every year.

And Ryan Day is a nice guy. I don't buy the "nice guys finish last" narrative. But they sure as hell don't finish first in big-time football.

Speaking of SJW Snowflakes
All year you have told this board that 1. joe burrow is a better quarterback than Dwayne haskins and 2. Joe burrow is a top 5 quarterback in college football. You've said repeatedly that everyone would see both of these things to be true by the end of year.
It’s now the end of the year. State your case for each of those things being true.

Last 3 games, Haskins threw for 64.2% - Burrow 63%. And Burrow faced Bama
quote:And then this:
and most important - one of the hottest young OC's in the nation (Ryan Day), and Burrow would equal Haskin's stats with ease.
quote:So Day was the hottest OC, and wanted to QB who is not particularly mobile, to run an offense that requires him to rely less on his mobility, and you think that reflected poorly on Day?
And if you want to go a little deeper down this rabbit hole, some very good sources say Meyer wanted to run Burrow in more of a read/option. But Ryan Day (who had been offered the Titans OC job and an SEC HC job) wanted to run a pro-style offense. Meyer had promised Day autonomy as OC if he stayed another season.
Meyer thought he could convince Day to go with Burrow, but Day insisted on Haskins and the pro-style O. All Day's plans went to shite when Purdue beat OSU. Now Haskins is running more of a r/o and Martell has been coming in for Red Zone read/option plays.
Color DAY gone at the end of this season.
But he was also one of the hottest OCs.

Meyer is tough as nails. He's THE boss of his program. There's a reason Meyer had the winningest W/L percentage of active Div I coaches when we all woke up this morning. There's a difference between "highly successful" and the top of the W/L heap.
AND... Meyer has more Natty's at age 54 than Saban did at the same age.

However, the fact that Meyer and Day have different public personalities, and the fact that we don’t really know how Day runs things, is irrelevant to whether Day can be successful and keep OSU in the NC picture year in and year out.

And this sums up the DUMBEST aspect of this mess. Ohio State should have hired a guy with at least 10 years of head coaching experience. A.D. Gene Smith and the clowns that allowed Meyer to be deposed have NO CLUE how Day "runs things".
Rumors are that Gene Smith and Prez Drake pushed Meyer for a date certain when Meyer would turn the job over to Day. They wouldn't budge. So Meyer said, "Great, then. The day is today. See ya."
Drake is a SJW idiot, and Smith became his lackey.

Sounds a lot like LSU’s administration right now. I know that a lot of people don’t like him on here but IMO Urban Meyer is second only to Nick Saban in college football and it’s not even close. Your admin screwed this one up royally and will probably take one of the 3 perennial CFP shoe ins down to at least Michigan’s level if not below them, I feel your pain bud

quote:Why? Urban has exactly 10 years of experience when he was hired at OSU, so at least 10 years seems strange.
Ohio State should have hired a guy with at least 10 years of head coaching experience.
Dabo Swinney, Lincoln Riley, and Jimbo Fisher, were all promoted from within as their first head coaching experience. And they have 7 of the 20 teams that have been in the CFB, and 7 of the 13 teams that that weren’t Alabama and OSU. Kirby Smart and Mark Helfrich (less successful overall), both made the playoffs during their first HC stint. Dantonio only had 3 years of HC experience before MSU. And Petersen had 8.

That's a blurry arse pic

How old is Urban's daughter to the far left? The guy sitting behind me wants to know.
