I have also heard that outside the ones that Alleva rejected, other coaches won't come because they can't hire staff. O has promised too many jobs to his buddies, and EVERY viable candidate has taken a hard pass on that
Didn't Canada want to bring in staff too?
Odds are slim that anyone we would consider a top guy is coming to this team without bringing staff in to help him implement their offense. Doesn't matter if they get a hefty payday. They're being set up to fail by this set up O has in place.
Orgeron wants a staff of recruiters and old farts, not coaches.

Wait, the most interesting thing about this post is Tack Minor. How did make his money????

What this all comes back to is that there is a major rift between all areas associated with the program. It started under Miles and has gotten worse under O. There does seem to be one thing that all factions agree upon. That Aranda is a significant piece to the future of the program. The only reason he didn’t bolt to join Jimbo is due to the HCIW tag he was given. Jimbo actually offered more than the $2.5 he agreed to with LSU.
all in for this
tank, O. fricking tank.

That would be by the middle of the 2nd quarter during all home games. Can you be more specific?

Our brightest hope is that we will tank this year to fire our HC and AD, pay more buyouts and take a chance on a guy who's never been a HC.
We are so fricked

What a shite show. Our only hope is that the people with the money feel like the rest of us.
what does O's buyout drop to on 12/31/2018?

All the while we are the laughing stock of athletics....which ultimately is the face of the university.
This is patently false. Athletics is the face of the university to people who didn't or won't go to LSU. LSU would still exist without football. LSU football does not exist without academics.

I'd be pretty pumped for the Aranda hire

Lighten up, and use your head, man. It's like some people start reading a thread and get caught up on one stupid detail then can't see the forest through the trees.
If someone is saying they're giving 2nd/3rd hand info and they heard someone like K. Briles interviewed, that can mean anything from:
- He was mentioned by O or other school officials as someone they should think of intervieing.
- He's formally on a list of people to interview.
- Someone representing LSU reached out to him by phone for an initial conversation (if not quite an initial phone interview).
- He interviewed.
Looking at the OP, I don't get what's hard to believe...
- The BOS putting money-making and a shallow sense of image above getting the best coach? Sounds credible.
- Big boosters are pissed? More than credible. I believe many are.
- O wants Freeze and was told no, either by Alleva or BOS? Sounds credible.
- O begged Kiffin, who said no again? Do you doubt it?
- O or someone called Gilbert and it didn't move forward (either a flat out no or no if Gilbert couldn't bring his OL coach)? Sounds credible.
- Other coaches saying they're not interested? This one depends... K. Briles? Maybe he was called and not interested, maybe Alleva/BOS said no beforehand. Did O express interest or contact Sark and get told no? I don't know. I haven't seen anyone claiming O/Alleva seriously considering names beyond that (Ensminger aside). The OP isn't specific enough on this for you to have your panties in a wad.

His panties are in a wad because check out where he's from . . . Cut Off. Coach O territory! He doesn't want to believe that his buddy is capable of such incompetence.

frick, you throw a national championship in there and that's an LSU fan's perfect season.

So let me get this straight. You're saying that a BOS at LSU disagrees with what I've heard? No way! I'd never believe it. You know, because the state of the program makes them look like heros and all.
Might want to consider the most basic human instinct, save your own fricking skin!

I'm encouraged the boosters wanted to buyout the buffoon after this year. Also glad Alleva begged that they give him another chance. This will ensure his demise as well.
