Let me preface this post a bit. Yes, I bash the shite out of coach O. Yes, I occasionally troll dumbass posts. Yes, I’ve insulted a mutitude of you on this board, occasionally feeling bad about it. No, I do not have any first hand sauces. Only hearsay from the other members of TAF that I know. You know, the whole “my brother’s freind’s first cousin’s sisters’s husband knows a guy” types.

I will say that everything I heard through those guys turned out to be accurate with regards to the OC search and another poster last night confirmed what I had heard (TenthTiger did it HERE). I’m simply going to share the other things that I’ve heard over the past few weeks. I would caution you to take it with a grain of salt.

What I’ve also heard , that I now believe to be true, is that there is a massive division among different factions involved in the program. The BOS is practically clueless. They are, however, concerned about the image of the university, hence the hard no go on Freeze or the elder Briles. Other than that, they are unconcerned with matters of football and have faith in Alleva for one reason, he makes money.

The major boosters, on the other hand, are furious. They were not happy with the O hire to begin with but were willing to go along with the experiment for a year or two. They were not, however, aware of the ridiculous buyout until after the ink was dry on the contact. Most recognize that the schedule was extremely weak this season and the team grossly under preformed with O at the helm. A handful were willing to fork out the buyout at the end of the season, but Alleva managed to hitch his wagon even tighter to O’s by requesting another year to see if O could turn things around.

O was furious after the Freeze saga. He tried reaching out to other candidates but was shot down at every attempt (by the candidates that is). In a last ditch effort, he tried throwing a shite ton of money at Kiffin, who turned him down yet again. As far as O’s relationship with the staff, it’s pretty split 50/50. A lot of the other coaches took issue with how he handled Canada wanting to run his offense the way he designed it. I’ve asked if anyone heard anything about the fight, none of them have been able to confirm it actually happened. Only that there was a disagreement.

What this all comes back to is that there is a major rift between all areas associated with the program. It started under Miles and has gotten worse under O. There does seem to be one thing that all factions agree upon. That Aranda is a significant piece to the future of the program. The only reason he didn’t bolt to join Jimbo is due to the HCIW tag he was given. Jimbo actually offered more than the $2.5 he agreed to with LSU.

That feels like enough for now. Again, take it all with a grain of salt. Just wanted to share the things I’ve heard through the grape vine.

sorry but i don't buy the "O only hired ensminger because the BOS turned him down with everyone else" argument. maybe that was the case with briles and freeze, but you can't tell me there were no other viable candidates after that. this is just like hiring O after herman and jimbo said no. LSU has a def pattern of settling for people they are familiar with. no desire at all to just hire the best coach available.

Reread. O was turned down by the candidates themselves.

All the while we are the laughing stock of athletics....which ultimately is the face of the university.

Yeah, all two of them. The search was not expanded whatsoever. THAT is the real issue. He’s settling because he doesn’t know any better.

I've seen this posted a few times now, but it seems odd that its relatively unknown if Aranda even wants to be a college HC. I assume if he accepted LSU's offer with the HCIW tag that means he aspires to be a head coach, but do you know that? Has he indicated to the LSU administration that he wants to be considered for LSU's next HC?

It's not the elder Briles we were all interested in. Are you insinuating that Kendal was never an option, but we wanted Art? This perplexes me...

ETA: I ask because Art was a definite "shite no" in consideration. He's been directly implicated in rape allegation cover up. Kendal, however, has only been named in the overall investigation, and his worst accusation has been allegedly telling a recruit, "You like white women? ,We have lots of them at Baylor, and they love football players". And Kendal went right back to work after the Baylor scandal, while Art has vanished.

Tenth Tiger scoffed at the notion that Aranda wouldn't want to be a head coach.

Art’s name was thrown out there and shut down by BOS, at least that’s how understood what was told to me. Kendal turned down the opportunity to even interview.

Scott Ballard. Owner of PJ's Coffee.

Stephen Perry. CEO of the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Blake Chatelain. Banking executive.

According to Alleva, they were "the search committee" last year, and are the 3 board members that are pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Boosters need to hold back their donations and tell Alleva to change their minds then. We still have time.

I would love to know exactly the number of candidates that turned him down.

Which one is the Tulane grad? I'm sure he has LSU's best interests at heart.
