HELFRICH

Someone who wants to be here, has a coach on the staff vouching for him, will stay for more than 1 or 2 seasons, and has made some awesome college QBs, not the least of which is Marcus Mariota. He can develop QB talent from seemingly nothing (remember, Mariota was an unknown coming out of HS), can run an offense that puts up numbers, learned O under Chip Kelly, and is there for the taking.

He should've been hired and recruiting already imo. No one out there would make me happier

Yep, I voted for him on Dandy Don.

Would much rather than slick Willie Kiffin...

I'm in agreement.

There is one missing piece to me with him and that is I'd love to see some confirmation of adaptability, but that's for the interviewers and CEO.

(that adaptability is the one big plus for Kiffin)

I'm guessing the 'waiting till after bowl game' means they aren't going to give out anything publicly as not to create a distraction for OUR bowl game Helfrich isn't coaching in one himself.

Yes I'm begining to like this guy and getting someone that will be here a while to build our offense would be good. At the same time I feel it would be funny to watch the Gumps melt if Kiffen jumps to LSU.

I would take him or Canada right now, and press ahead. Like noted by others our OC needs to be in place NOW so they can contact recruits and discuss how they are going to fit into our OFF....and discuss how it impacts current players like Dupre, etc. who we want to see next yr on the field as Tigers.

IMO, quit wasting our time with Kiffin who is likely a 1-2 yr OC at best. Make a choice, and keep charging!

He can't develop QBS and is mediocre at,best without Frost or Kelly holding his hand

People just see flashy Oregon offense and want him

Trust me we'll regret him if we get him

It should be done by now. Look what he has done with talent. He will have more than he has ever had

Exactly this guy took a college football monster of a program and ran it into the ground in just 3 seasons. He can recruit? Lmao look at how far oregons fallen and who their QBS have been since he took over. Chip Kelly ran that offense and developed those QBS not that clown.

In the dead period. Coaches can't contact recruits.

Why should anyone trust you? You didn't say anything remotely resembling a substantive remark.

His offenses have ranked in the 80s or so when not at Oregon and have noticeably regressed into one dimensional the past two years.

I mean cmon any fan of college football can see that Oregon much like LSU is no longer feared.

I think he should have gotten one more year but not only will his offense not work in a league dominated by strong defensession but also his offense is not the same without frost or kelly

Apparently he can't recruit or develope Qb's. I think his last 2 starters both transferred to Oregon.

Let it go, vouching for anyone else other than Kiffin is just wasting your time, energy, and mental health.

Orgeron is responsible for this hire and as much as he'd like you to believe this hire is about "the team", it's not. Orgeron is to committed to Kiffin because they're friends, no one else will get the job. End of story.

I wish we'd just say f it and go get Briles at this point

That's a guy who can coach up an offense. I'm really concerned about the direction of this program now.

Wish we'd do whatever it takes to compete with the best.

Still upset we hired a DL coach as HC. And are In this position. Honestly felt he would have stayed on staff regardless.

Dude, this guy is an excellent coordinator. He's just not a great recruiter or head coach. You realize this was down year for them offensively and they were still 20th nationally

When Helfrich was hired at Oregon, he had little experience with spread offenses. I'd say he adapted fine there.
