I think the answer is YES. When Urban says no, they just assume any high profile coach is dying to jump ship to come to Austin. How many times did they think they had Saban all wrapped up? Tom Herman is not a bad coach, probably as good as they can get right now. It’s comical to watch them flounder and screw themselves over and over.

Texas fans honest to christ think UT is the best job in football. LSU fans are dumb but they aren't nearly as delusional as UT fans

It went from “steers and queers” to “cocks not Glocks” from your campus rally a few years back. Remember that?

You WERE Texas!

Seriously. Read the threads here from LSU fans and who they think LSU can snag.

Maybe, but at least LSU actually has an under-performing buffoon/lunatic as head coach. Texas has the guy that everybody had penciled in as the next Rockne, and his wins and losses have not been that bad, just not the immediate turnaround the fans think is the 'Horns God-given right.

There is that attitude you guys all have....it is why it started with little ole A&M hating you guys so much, although their fans are pretty obnoxious also, but that looking down your nose syndrome that you guys have. That is why your team is not tough for decades now. Good lord just stop with that shite already. You could have the best situation in college football but you rich fricks can’t help yourselves!

A&M deserves a spot at this table.

I mean in all reality, most fans of the "blue-blood" programs are delusional, Texas is no exception.

I do think Texas is one of the premier jobs in the country, it'd be hard to argue against that. However, some of the same reasons that make Texas a great job are also prohibitive. A lot of Horns fans think the program is a lot more successful than it really is. Sure 900 wins or whatever is a cool accolade, but there's only 3 championships to show for it. That shouldn't warrant the same expectations that Alabama or OSU have for instance.

I think a lot of fans realize the amount of money the program has and the amount of recruits the state generates and automatically assume the HC at Texas should instantly be successful. In some ways they're right, but continuity plays into that as well and firing coaches for not immediately competing on the national stage just sets you back.

Idk when if ever yall idiots will figure out it is not rocket science to be successful at UT. You dont need a coach with aa fancy offense or whatever just a guy that can recruit and put a wall around texas then have players execute a game plan, any game plan.

What I find hilarious as an Iowa State fan is Matt Campbell has made it clear he isn't even interested in talking to Texas. With the Texas being so much larger than ISU's it is crazy to hear him shut it down before it starts.

Iowa State a better job than Texas right now.

The last 3 guys at LSU won their first conference and national titles at LSU. Seems they’ve done ok.

Meanwhile, Texas shoots for the moon and hires mediocre back-to-back.
