Hmmmmm, I'll have an Aranda/Herman combo, large cheese fries and a medium coke.

Aranda is the best option. Herman with him is gravy.

Aranda / Herman no question. Would be the start of a dynasty.

Aranda/Herman.

Would have a similar feel to Saban’s time here.

Herman would be here maybe one or two years before getting a HC job. I would still be happy with Aranda or Riley. It's a good either/or to consider.

OC or DC that’ll be here for a year shouldn’t even be a consideration in picking HC imo.
Get the best coach that has a chance to be at LSU for a decade plus completly independent of coordinators.

Obvious example of how depending on coordinators for success can go south real fast need not be mentioned.

There's 2 coaches this thread is about. Riley is the one that didn't go 2-7...after inheriting a program that was 11-3.

Well, Riley was already OC at OU for a couple of seasons. Really hasn't moved the needle since becoming HC. Not the same as Aranda who's into year two at BU as HC.

I think Dave has a much, much overall understanding of the game and game planning from his career path than does Lincoln.

The problem with Riley is his teams are consistently soft as baby shite. We’d be hoping that recruiting Louisiana would solve that, but the last two seasons have shown that talent alone isn‘t enough. Giving up 30-40 every big game isn’t going to fly here.

Doesn’t really matter as long as Riley gets the right O line coach and O line recruits, then hires a top shelf DC.

Aranda with top shelf OC
Riley with top shelf DC

Both would do same amount of terrorizing college football

Other option, Herman would be plucked the moment we have a good season

Riley. Nobody in their right mind should say Aranda.

I won’t be the slightest bit upset if it’s Riley, but given a choice I’d take Aranda and any decent OC over him.

Aranda. Riley can't spell defense.

Riley but the Aranda and Herman connection would be nice. Herman would leave after two years. Riley fixing to eat and if we can get a good DC in. Lsu will compete year after year

Riley by a significant margin.

I view Herman as a solid hire...not a can’t miss offensive genius.
