Who else is left on Riley’s level that we are still going to go after? I thought he was the only reasonable candidate remaining at that level but I might be missing someone.

I'm not convinced that's actually true. Mark Stoops is Les Miles without the recruiting. At least O recruits at an elite level and can make something special when the coordinator gods line up. O needed to go because his life was clearly spiraling and he was definitely overpaid for what he did, but he isn't really a bad coach no matter how deeply unhappy I was to hire him in the first place.
And no, I will not accept "he coaches at Kentucky" as an excuse for his recruiting. I'm pretty damn sure that a top 3 basketball school at a flagship can recruit better than #12 in the SEC. They just haven't had any football coaches who can program build and recruit well in their history. They're not big enough of a school to call them a sleeping giant, but what he's done should be the norm there. Not considered outstanding.

Also, frick all you guys who gave me shite for "melting over things that haven't happened" when I said last week that exactly this was a very likely scenario. Riley doesn't come and we're stuck with our choice of old, mediocre coach because all the other jobs have been recruiting the young hot shots. This was incredibly predictable.
