We are supposed to believe Kiffin will agree to accept the UF job, then will begin to discuss the terms? Talk about giving a guy all of the leverage.

Also, UF wants this decision by the weekend, so they can announce 3 weeks later?

The video conference thing is an immediate red flag. Currently employed coaches (not named Bobby Petrino) are not having zoom calls with other Athletic Directors. That's what agents are for.

Isn’t this literally what BK did?

Not buying it. Announcing at the end of the regular season would torpedo ole Miss’ playoff run

I highly doubt Lane would do that

Exactly. UF needs an answer. They can't wait til Christamas. SS is forcing Kiffin's hand. No way he accepts. I would think UF will have moved on by the time they show up in Oxford.

This is bullshite. Lane absolutely had one with Auburn in 2022.

Don’t let that stop finch from cranking his wang about how much better UF is than LSU.

It’s amusing

I have met a lot of Bull Gators over the years, and you'd think they were basically acting as AD consultants with how ITK they all claim to be.

not just that...putting a deadline on it like that essentially ensures that he will not go to florida

would be like us insisting on an incentive based contract...he would tell us to go frick ourselves

he would do the same if UF insisted on having the coach named day after the season especially if he is going to make playoffs. thats dumb AF

Why would he decide before the season is over?

I have to admit, finally making the SECCG and the CFP only to have their head coach announce he is leaving right on the cusp of the postseason would be just about the most Ole Miss thing ever.

You have to wonder, why doesn’t Lane just come out and sign an extension or whatever and say he’s sticking at Ole Miss. It would end all the distractions wouldn’t it?

So my question is did Florida or did Kiffin sabotage this whole process by leaking this information?

you have to be sweating if you're an Ole Miss fan right now. the longer this goes on, the more they're going to realize "i love Oxford. i've set up roots here." was nothing but a bunch of b.s. regardless where he ends up going.

if Florida or LSU end up whiffing on him, it's really no big deal for us as we'll both be settling for 2nd or 3rd best options. we'd eat a lot of crow for how confident we've been in landing him, but that's part of it.
