That Sumrall coaches at least 1 game for UF. You said there's a real chance he won't. That's an insane proposition. I'll even give you odds, if you want.

that was hyperbole just saying he’ll be here very shortly as the fans already want him fired

Tulane has players leave in the portal to go to bigger schools every year. Most recently their RB and QB left for Oregon and Duke. They will prob have 5-6 players that are SEC caliber that would help Florida.

I don’t think a upper level sec team would actually want Tulane recruits,

dunno man... LSU is still going hard after Braylen Allen, who was committed to Tulane, before committing to Oklahoma, who he just decomitted from

But Ole Miss totally should have let Lane hang around Oxford for another month...

You really don’t think that’s going to have any affect on who stays or goes, do you?

He’s doing the same thing Cignetti did when he was hired away from JMU. Cignetti bought most of his roster from JMU to IU.

You're acting like the Ole Miss players that would've wanted to follow Kiffin don't have ways of getting in touch with him if he's away from Oxford

Ole Miss should have tried to negotiate something that allowed Kiffin to finish coaching the playoffs, but prohibited him from recruiting any current Ole Miss players to come with him to LSU. Could've made him sign a contract with stiff financial penalties if he brought any current Ole Miss players to LSU after the season.

Would have given both sides what they wanted in the divorce, but instead Ole Miss gets to go into the CFP with a coaching staff in disarray and with Kiffin being free to go after any Ole Miss player he wants from the transfer portal next month.

No worries, right?

The players hate LK and he only showed to practice twice a week

If Ole Miss let him stay, there was a risk that he'd be doing what Sumrall is doing, but Ole Miss would have their entire coaching staff in place. Ole Miss told him to get out, and so he had to start working for his new employer. It just feels like people want someone to blame when this is a situation where both sides acted pretty reasonably, even though I personally don’t think Ole Miss made the right call.

Not only that, but the whole thing was one of the most transparent hires ever. Lane never said, "I won't be the coach at LSU," like Lincoln Riley did or Nick Saban did about coaching at Alabama. He never let Jimmy Sexton put out misinformation about LSU to pressure another school to fire their coach, like Tom Herman did. He didn't play games with the media about meetings and cancelled meetings like Jon Sumrall did with Florida. And, it didn't come out of the blue like Alex Golesh going to Auburn (when most of the rumors had him going to Arkansas.)

It was all rather simple: LSU knew he was interested, Ole Miss knew he was interested in moving. All through Saturday, everyone pretty much knew what the hold up was.

In fact, I thought the information that turned out to be true were the head-fake we are so used to seeing. That's part of why I thought he was going to stay at Ole Miss: there was too much smoke.

I'll be rooting for him, and am perfectly fine if he doesn't bring any Ole Miss recruits with him.

He probably has to. Florida has some talent on their roster. Some of those guys can go to some high profile places. So, Florida likely has position openings that have to be filled.

Is the same as Nicholls players to Tulane.

Not even the same solar system as Florida’s regular schedule.

You realize that he can do this whether he is coaching for Tulane or not.

Yeah but it's wrong. It's bad. It breaks college football.

No it doesn’t. The kids can come and go. That’s the current normal. Sumrall has these kids’ cell numbers. If they are good players, he could text them with offers from Florida.

This is over nothing.

Lane has been the Villain for years and LSU has not been liked by the media either so this is a perfect storm to push a negative narrative and make us the villains of College Football.

Sports media seems pretty bipolar when it comes to LSU. Sometimes lapping on praise, other times disrespecting or downplaying us. There has been much great things said by them about LSU.

Tulane has no chance at winning a title. Ole Miss does.
